One of the first big tournaments taking place on a Sunday at PokerStars is the $109 Sunday Kickoff, which is a $75,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em event. It kicks off at noon so it is one for the early risers to get involved in.
This week, the Sunday Kickoff attracted 1,040 players, one of them being former European Poker Tour Barcelona champion Tom “hitthehole” Middleton. Almost 10 hours after the tournament began, Middleton was the last player standing and he got his hands on the $16,965 first place prize.
Also in the winner’s enclosure at PokerStars was “que_te_crio” who walked away with the $5,814 first place prize awarded to the champion of the Hot $162. Joining que_te_crio at the final table was “dickson007” who bust in third place for $3,189.
In the $215 Bounty Builder, “DamoWain” finished fifth for $4,611 with Sam “SamSquid” Grafton finishing seventh in the $215 Weekender for a $1,573 score.
Over in the Hot $162, Ireland’s Sean “MonkeyBudg” Prendiville finished third for a $6,470 score with “vander9279” collecting $5,754 for their seventh place finish in the $700 Super-Sized Sunday and “BOOM_shark85” banking a massive $52,946 by navigating their way to fourth place in the $215 Sunday Million.
Completing the recap of PokerStars results are the sixth place finish in the Hot $109 by “bestvichingo” that was worth $3,687 the third place finish in the $1,050 Sunday Grand PLO by “Liqqa” worth $16,680, the runner-up finish in the Sunday Grand PLO by “Tagult” for $22,218, the sixth place finish by Antonis “ENIGMA4U4ME” Poulengeris in the Big $215 worth $5,368 and the fifth place finish in the Hot $215 by “FISHyFINGA” worth $5,592.
At 888poker on Sunday, Irish grinder Cathal “cshine87” Shine chopped the $100,000 Baby Whale heads up before going on to win the tournament for a $18,792 addition to his bankroll, with Patrick “d1sclosure” Leonard finishing eighth in the same tournament for $2,457.
Two Brits reached the final table of the $50,000 Sunday Crocodile this weekend. “ckb4714” finished fifth for $3,704 while “ourstheglory” was the runner-up, a finish worth $9,429.
A mention to “HappyHour4U” who collected $2,712 by finishing fourth in the $25,000 Sunday Lightning 6-Max, and to “pokerkid126” who bust from the $80,000 Sunday Challenge in ninth place to turn $90 into $1,216.
Across to partypoker now where Jack “skadizzle” McKinlay took down the $40,000 Gtd Drago for $8,968 and where Oliver “ThreeBunPass” Price finished third in a $100,000 Gtd High Roller for a cool $15,230.
The partypoker ambassador Patrick “Patrick_Leonard” Leonard won the 6-Max Progressive KO edition of the Weigh-In on Sunday and banked $5,250.
