Five PokerStars London Series Events Scheduled

When PokerStars’ management decided to pull the plug on tours such as the European Poker Tour and the United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT), replacing them with PokerStars Festivals and Championships, many poker players who call the UK home wondered what would happen with PokerStars’ partnership with the Hippodrome Casino in London.
Throughout 2016, the Hippodrome hosted several £275 buy in events which gave players the opportunity to play in a well-structured poker tournament and to compete for big prizes without the need for a large buy in.
Any fears of these events being no more have been quashed with PokerStars announcing five PokerStars London Series stops to be held at the Hippodrome Casino during the current year. Four of these events feature a £275 buy in while one, the PokerStars London Super Series, commands a £550 buy in.
2017 PokerStars London Series Schedule
Date | Event | Buy-in |
---|---|---|
Mar. 2-5 | PokerStars London Series | £275 |
May. 25-28 | PokerStars London Series | £275 |
Aug. 30 – Sep. 3 | PokerStars London Super Series | £550 |
Oct. 5-8 | PokerStars London Series | £275 |
Nov. 9-12 | PokerStars London Series | £275 |
Each of the London Series events features four starting flights where players start with 25,000 chips and play to 30-minutes levels although the fourth and final flight for each event (played on a Saturday night) is a turbo tournament with 15-minute blinds.
Day 2, which takes place on a Sunday, sees the blind levels extended to 40-minutes to give players more room to manoeuvre. At least £40,000 is guaranteed to be distributed to those navigating their way to the money places.
Online satellites for each leg will appear at PokerStars starting with buy ins as low as £1.10 and live satellites will take place at the Hippodrome Casino during each of the series’ stops.
