UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Oliver Price Climbs to Career High

Oliver Price
Sharelines
  • Oliver Price climbs to a career-high fifth place in the UK rankings and 55th place in the worldwide standings.

  • Ludovic Geilich now ranked 10th in the world for online poker tournament play, a career high.

It seems like every man, woman and their dog are currently in Prague for the last-ever European Poker Tour festival, which has resulted in a relatively quiet week in the online poker world, but there have still been a few results to shout about and some new career-highs in the online poker rankings.

Oliver “ThreeBunPass” Price has made the partypoker $2,600 Super High Roller tournament his own recently. On October 23, Price was the runner-up in the $100,000 guaranteed event for $30,975 then won it for $46,313 on November 6. Price was then the runner-up on November 20 for $27,563 and again on December 11 when he collected $28,750.

These results have helped push Price up to seventh in the United Kingdom standings and a career-high of 55th in the world, according to PocketFives.com.

Another player achieving an all-time high is Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich who now finds himself occupying 10th place in the world rankings. Geilich hasn’t had a ton of chases of late thanks to being in Punta Cana for the partypoker Caribbean Poker Party and now in the Czech Republic for EPT Prague.

A handful of other UK-based grinders had big scores this week, including:

  • Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford – First place in the PokerStars $109 Mini Thursday Thrill for $13,670
  • Phil “philroyal888” Mighall – Second place in the PokerStars $109 NLHE 6-Max Hyper for $2,942
  • “luckyfish89” – Third place in the PokerStars Big $215 for $5,741
  • Rick “TheClaimer” Trigg – Second place in the PokerStars Hot $55 for $4,881

Irish Rankings Remain Relatively Unchanged

Like the UK rankings, the Irish standings have remained relatively unchanged thanks to the top Irish grinders switching to live poker during the past week or so. Dan “NukeTheFish!” Wilson is still the man to catch in the Emerald Isle and enjoys a 735.47 point advantage over second placed Toby “JobyToyce” Joyce.

Third placed James “Jaymo” Noonan enjoyed a $4,983 score when he finished third in the PokerStars $109 Sunday Warm-Up this weekend, while Jason “blaaaaaah666” Tompkins returned to the top 20 in Ireland this week at the expense of live high stakes guru Steve “MrTimCaum” O’Dwyer who dropped to 22nd place. Shout out also to “Pokerniall” who jumped to 19th place this week, relegating Conor “ccoonnoorr” O’Driscoll to 21st place as a result.
