UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Sam Grafton Returns to Top 20

Some big results this past week have resulted in a small shuffle of the United Kingdom’s online poker rankings, courtesy of, including a return to the top 20 for the popular grinder Sam Grafton.

We highlighted Grafton’s win in the Hot $162 in the Sunday Briefing, a result netting him $14,332, but Grafton also enjoyed more success this past week including a win in the Sunday 6-Max at for $5,763, a win in the Hot €50 at for $1,504, and a third-place in the Big €100 at for $2,543.

Grafton climbs to 12th in the UK standings after his impressive week at the virtual felt.

Up to third in the UK this week is Leeds’ Jamie “EzGame89” O’Connor who won the Saturday Duel Heads-Up for $2,790, the $55 NLHE 6-Max Progressive KO for $2,855, and finished fifth in the Super-Sized Sunday for $9,233, all at PokerStars.

Another winner at PokerStars was Rick “TheClaimer” Trigg, who took down the Big $109 for $8,846, while Daniel “lucky_scrote” Carter banked more than $14,000 by finishing as the runner-up in the Monday 6-Max and winning the Hot $162 at PokerStars.

Thirteen Wins in a Week for Geleziunas Pushes Him Into Second in Ireland

Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas, the former number one in Ireland, is up to second place in the Emerald Isle following a run of form that saw him win 13 tournaments in a single week.

Geleziunas plays for lower stakes than when he topped the Irish standings, but still puts in some incredible volume online, and when good players play a lot of poker, they often enjoy purple patches such as winning 13 tournaments in seven days!

James “Jaymo” Noonan won a brace of tournaments this week, both at PokerStars. Noonan triumphed in the $16.50 NLHE Turbo Zoom for $642, then a day later binked the $33 NLHE 6-Max Hyper-Turbo for $2,038. Sandwiched between those wins was a fourth place finish in the $215 Bounty Builder worth $2,816.

Daniel “danielt999” Tighe had three four-figure scores, the largest being for $2,821, his reward for finishing second in a $215 NLHE Turbo at PokerStars, while “Kursplunk” won the $12,000 Sunday Swordfish at 888poker and walked away with $3,687.
