  • Ben Dobson and Patrick Leonard both won online Sunday Majors this weekend. Find out which in the Sunday Briefing.

With the 2016 World Series of Poker almost done and dusted, scores of poker players from the United Kingdom and Ireland have resumed their online poker grind.

One player, the popular pro Ben “F3nix35” Dobson, made a winning return, triumphing in the PokerStars Hot $109, banking a sizable $16,223.91 for his victory, a result that takes Dobson to almost $2.03 million in online cashes.

It seems there is not a week that goes by where Conor “1_Conor_b_1” Beresford helps himself to a five-figure score, and this week was no different. Beresford, ranked second in the world by our friends at PocketFives, was part of a three-way chop in the $215 Bounty Builder, which netted him $10,130.70.

A similar-sized haul was enjoyed by “supersan321” who finished fifth in the Sunday Warm-Up for $13,974.50, with “ViCiuSMaXiMu” collected $9,482.62 for their runner-up finish in the Hot $162.

Over in the Super-Sized Sunday, “lacabanhita” finished sixth for $6,457.98 with Spain’s UK-based grinder Vicente “vicenfish” Delgado busting in fourth-place for $11,700.34.

Ireland’s John “Gruaiggorm” Daly reached the final table of the $109 Bounty Builder, winning $1,340.59 and $1,053.50 for his ninth-place finish, with “tua133” also finishing ninth but in the Big $215 for $1,840.69. Luke “LFmagic” Fields bust that particular tournament in fifth-place for $6,636.77.

Three Union Jack sporting players reached the $80,000 Baby Whale final table at 888poker on Sunday. “OMGsete” fell in eighth-place for $2,092.50 with “bigblindbets” busting in sixth-place for $3,766.50. The deepest any of our players progressed was the fifth-place, worth $4,854.60, enjoyed by Allan “BigDaft37” Peers.

Patrick “d1sclosure” Leonard, a former world number one, put the disappointment of bubbling the partypoker $2,600 Super High Roller behind him by winning the 888poker $100,000 Mega Deep for $21,357, with “bigblindbets,” fresh from their Baby Whale final table, being the runner-up in the $40,000 Turbo Mega Deep for $6,200.
