UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Phil Mighall Up to Fourth

Phil Mighall
  • Phil Mighall climbed to fourth-place in the UK online poker rankings this week, where Conor Beresford still leads.

  • Kevin Killeen still tops the Irish online poker rankings.

The past seven days have been extremely quiet when it comes to the online poker tournament results of the United Kingdom and Ireland’s elite players, although it was to be expected with the PokerStars Spring Championship Of Online Poker, partypoker Powerfest, and 888poker Super XL Series all ending, plus it is almost time for the 2016 World Series of Poker.

Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford is still the man to catch in the UK standings, and now has more than a 500 point gap between himself and second-placed Chris “moorman1” Moorman. Beresford’s largest score of the past week stemmed from his ninth place finish in the partypoker Super High Roller for $5,500, and that result helped to push him up to fourth place in the worldwide standings.

Also climbing to fourth, albeit in the UK leader board, is Brighton’s Phil “philroyal888” Mighall. A third-place finish in the Fat Thursday for $7,056 was followed up with a win in the Fat Tuesday for $15,124, and a third place in the Wednesday PLO for $7,463 have improved Mighall’s ranking by a couple of spots. All three of those tournaments were at PokerStars.

Killeen Still the Man to Catch in Ireland

Over in Ireland, Kevin “SuitedAcesBaby” Killeen is still way out in front, thanks in part to a brace of runner-up finishes. The first was in the PokerStars Bounty Builder for $5,828 and the second was in the 888poker $15,000 Octopus for $3,367.

Had Killeen not enjoyed those two runner-up finish, Daniel “NukeTheFish!” Wilson would have closed the gap having finished second in the 888poker Whale for $25,561. As it is, Wilson is approximately 870 points behind the Emerald Isle’s leader.

Moving up three places to seventh is “myleftfoot,” partly because of his 13th place finish in the latest Sunday Million at PokerStars.

Mentions go to Nicholas “YerSoLucky” Newport who won $5,047 for his second-place finish in the PokerStars Hot $55, to Daragh “daragh999” Davey who won $3,551 by finishing fourth in the Big $55 at PokerStars, and Dan “DatWillDoPig” Rankin who collected $3,709 by winning the Hot $33, also at PokerStars.
