UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Superb Week for Kevin Killeen

Kevin Killeen
  • Kevin Killeen enjoys a solid week and retains the number one spot in the Irish online poker rankings.

  • Owain Carey climbs into the United Kingdom online poker rankings top 20.

Kevin “SuitedAcesBaby” Killeen is still the number one ranked online poker tournament player in Ireland, according to the ranking system, and if he keeps up his current form that fact will remain true for quite some time.

Killen helped himself to the $29,789 runner-up prize in the $320 Mont Blanc tournament, part of the PokerStars Mountain Series, before finishing fourth in the $109 No-Limit Hold’em Rebuy for $13,475, and third in the $109 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo Sunday Edition for $10,282, also at PokerStars.

Those impressive results have helped Killeen keep a 465.66 point gap between himself and second-placed Daniel “NukeTheFish!” Wilson, who won the Irish Open Main Event last month.

Climbing up the Irish rankings once again this week is Toby “JobyToyce” Joyce who now finds himself fourth in Ireland and a career high of 192nd in the world. Joyce has been tearing it up at partypoker recently, winning the $20,000 Weigh-In for $4,388, finishing second in the same tournament a couple of days later for $3,184, then coming third in the $50,000 High Roller for an additional $7,000.

Owain “sngwonder” Carey Enters the UK Top 20

Owain “sngwonder” Carey is the sole new name in the United Kingdom’s online poker rankings, entering the leader board in 20th place, and a career-high in the world standings of 146th. Carey banked a $13,253 score by finishing second in the partypoker $50,000 High Roller, before winning a $5,000 WPT Package (also at partypoker), and taking down the PokerStars $109 No-Limit Hold’em for $2,590.

Up one place to second in the UK is Stephen “woody1234321” Woodhead thanks in part to his final table appearance in the $2,100 Mount Everest tournament at PokerStars, which netted him $23,352.

Soaring up the leaderboard is Matas “bebaimis777” Cimbolas, who can seemingly do nothing wrong at the poker tables right now. In the past couple of week’s Cimbolas has enjoyed back-to-back Sunday 500 final tables, and this week won the $109 No Limit Hold’em Turbo at PokerStars for $9,576 and then was the runner-up in the $700 Kilimanjaro Mountain Series tournament for a massive $119,173, the second largest online cash of his career. Cimbolas is now ninth in the UK and a career-best 44th in the world.

Jamie “EzGame89” O’Connor deserves a mention following some top results at PokerStars this week. Seven four-figure scores, including two outright wins, a runner-up, and third-place finish have kept him in seventh place in the UK rankings.
