UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Christopher Brammer Returns to Top 20

  • Christopher Brammer returns to the UK online poker rankings top 20 this week after a runner-up finish in the Super Tuesday.

Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer, formerly ranked number one in the world by, has returned to the top 20 of the United Kingdom’s online poker rankings following a trio of runner-up finishes in major online tournament.

Brammer finished in second place in the partypoker $10,000 Drago tournament for $2,176 and in the 888poker $35,000 Sunday Breeze for $5,954, but both of those scores were dwarfed by his runner-up finish in the PokerStars Super Tuesday, which netted him $85,178.

Phil “philroyal888” Mighall is another player who has been enjoying some deep runs of late, with him reaching five final tables in the past week. The most lucrative of these final table appearance netted the Brighton grinder $5,500 and $5,940, his reward for a sixth place in the partypoker $50,000 guaranteed High Roller and a fifth place in the PokerStars $215 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo Sunday Edition.

Leading the way in the UK standings is Spain’s Oscar “MendaLerenda” Serradell, and by a margin of more than 450 points. Serradell extended his lead this week thanks to him finishing third in partypoker’s $150,000 guaranteed High Roller on Sunday, a result that banked the talented pro $21,175.

Special mentions have to go to the following players for banking a five-figure score during the past seven days:

  • Jamie “EzGame89” O’Connor – Second place in the Weekly Turbo at PokerStars for $10,290
  • Matas “bebaimis777” Cimbolas – Sixth place in the Sunday 500 at PokerStars for $14,343
  • Andy “wiisssppppaa” Taylor – First place in The Big $162 at PokerStars for $14,217

Two Irishmen Climb to Worldwide All-Time Highs

Two of Ireland’s online grinders have climbed to all-time highs in the worldwide online poker rankings on the back of some impressive results at the virtual felt.

Toby “JobyToyce” Joyce soared to seventh in Ireland and 248th in the world after results such as a fourth place finish in the €300 SCOOP Event 6 at for $4,701 and his victory in the PokerStars Weekly Pot-Limit Omaha tournament, which netted him $4,345.

The other high flier is the player known as “myleftfoot.” A win in the Big €30 for $855 was followed up by 10 final table appearances including wins in the PokerStars $55 No-Limit Hold’em for $1,306, and the $7,000 Lightning 6-max for $2,355 at 888poker. Myleftfoot now occupies ninth place in Ireland and 307th in the world.

John “gruaiggorm” Daly was another Irishman sampling the sweet taste of success when he won the $8,000 Swordfish at 888poker for $2,106 and the Night on Stars tournament at for $4,996, while Dara “Doke” O’Kearney joined Daly in the winner’s circle by taking down the Nightly $162 at PokerStars for $8,896.
