Sunday Briefing: Jack O’Neill Wins the $120K Mega Deep at 888poker

Another week has come and gone, and another set of major online tournaments have taken place. Once again, players calling the United Kingdom and Ireland excelled in these tournaments, banking themselves some chunky scores along the way.

$29,647.80 was the first-place prize in the 888poker $120,000 Mega Deep, a prize secured by Jack “lrdvoldemort” O’Neill, who topped a field of 819 to get his hands on it. Fellow Brit “rascada” joined O’Neill on the final table, falling in sixth-place for $6,797.70.

There were two Union Jacks at the final table of the $100,000 Baby Whale, although Joel “CrackdeI29” Jordana is a UK-based Spaniard. He finished second for $19,404 while “duchasp4rati” bust in third-place for $14,206.50.

Over in the $50,000 Turbo Mega Deep, Niall “wug_brain” Farrell was the runner-up and collected $8,903 with “g.s.p.888” finishing in fourth-place for $5,065.50.

Lastly for the 888poker results, shout outs to “mayothedon” who finished in seventh-place for $3,597.84 and to “checkfoldm8” who bust in fourth-place in the $100,000 Sunday Challenge, a finish worth $8,580.37.

As usual, there were some big results and bankroll-boosting scores at PokerStars this Sunday, including “drivemynuts” who collected $3,703.62 by finishing in eighth-place in the Bigger $109.

“CLEVER666” almost had a life-changing score in the Sunday Million, but fell short with a seventh place finish worth $25,438.50, while Ireland’s “pepealas” chopped the Sunday 500 heads-up before going on to win for $55,479.95.

In the Bigger $162, “DuTTiFruTTi9” came third for $15,760.20, with Tamer “Tamthemanwho” Kamel coming fifth in the Sunday Supersonic for $10,842.41, and Ben “1Don’tStop1” Heath finishing seventh in the Sunday Rebuy for $5,687.50.

And finally, a mention for “Sputnick_PT” who finished in fifth-place in the Full Tilt Sunday Major, turning $250 into $2,801.83.
