Sunday Briefing: Gavin “gavonater” O’Rourke Wins the Sunday Rebuy
PokerStars wasn’t as kind to players from the UK & Ireland this weekend, but there were still some impressive results enjoyed by our players.
Gavin “gavonater” O’Rourke walked away with $27,373.61 after a three-way chop in the $109+R Sunday Rebuy; the Irishman chopped with the UK’s “youngblood51” who banked $23,864.92. Also at that final table was Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer, who fell in eighth place for $5,736.52.
In the $162 Sunday 6-Max, “revmotmotmot” bust in sixth place for $3,528.00, while the $215 Sunday Supersonic was won by “333ball” for $43,421.35, and “DANMERRRRRRR” bust in fifth place for $10,939.34.
Mentions also to Phil “PhilRoyal888” Mighall who was the runner-up in the Bigger $55, a finish worth $22,600.00 after a heads-up chop, and Patrick “pads1161” Leonard who won the Bigger $82 for $16,228.89.
Huge Prizes in Inaugural partypoker Super High Roller
partypoker ran a $2,600 buy-in Super High Roller this week, one with a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool. Any fears of the guarantee not being hit were soon dashed when 127 entries were processed, creating a $342,500 prize pool. The UK’s “ThreeBunPass” reached the final table, falling in fourth place for $30,825.00, a superb result we’re sure you’ll agree.
Two other British grinders navigated their way to final tables at partypoker, namely Paul “senterpied99” Senter who finished fourth in the $50,000 Weigh-In for $5,649.00 and Ben “DoobieFish” Kett who bust from the $20,000 Contender in fourth place for $1,819.68.
duchasp4rati Harpoons the 888poker Whale
This weekend saw the $150,000 WHALE tournament run at 888poker, and 318 players ponied up the $600 buy-in to create a $179,670 prize pool. The largest slice of this, a cool $34,766.14, is now nestled in the 888poker account of “duchasp4rati” who defeated fellow British player “hammy261” heads-up, the latter making do with the $26,052.15 runner-up prize.
There were two talented Brits at the business end of the $50,000 Turbo Mega Deep. “carmen.1957,” who won the Super XL Series Main Event for $168,532.90 in February, collected $2,182.80 for finishing seventh, with Conor “grandma1954” Beresford falling in third place for a $7,062.00 score.
Three Final Tables Appearances at Full Tilt
There were no players from the UK or Ireland at the final tables of the Sunday Major or Sunday Brawl at Full Tilt this week, although there were a couple at the T-Rex’s final table, namely Ireland’s “Cumin At Me Bro” who finished fifth for $454.75 and “Alien Minds” who fell in ninth place for $112.50.
Also, in the Turbo Multi-Hundo, “sophie anson” finished in fifth place for $640.00.
