UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Scott Margereson Soars

Scott "Aggro Santos" Margereson
  • Scott Margereson climbs to second in the UK and an all-time high of 16th in the worldwide online poker rankings.

  • A big weekend for Rhys Jones catapults him up the UK online poker rankings

Our friends over at PocketFives have update their online rankings and there is a new all-time career high for the United Kingdom’s Scott “Aggro Santos” Margereson.

Margereson has climbed from fifth place in the UK standings to second, and up to 16th in the world rankings. A win in the $109 No-Limit Hold’em at PokerStars netted him $9,036 and he followed that up with a runner-up finish in a $75,000 guaranteed Powerfest event at partypoker for an additional $19,120.

Jamie “EzGame89” O’Connor is another player in hot form. A week after winning $51,329 as part of a chop in the partypoker Powerfest Week 3 Main Event, O’Connor went on to win the Hot $55 at PokerStars for $9,215.

Also climbing up the rankings is Rhys “floppinhel” Jones, who is now 12th in the UK, up from 17th. Jones won the Big $162 at PokerStars for $14,754 on March 19 and then took down the $75,000 guaranteed 6-Max Powerfest event at partypoker for $28,680 to cap of a great weekend for the popular pro.

The UK’s leader board has a new name on it. Making his debut in 17th place is “Crackdel29,” who we believe is one of the many talented Spaniards who now call the UK home. His best results of this past week weighed in at $14,632 and $11,154, his reward for finishing third in the $215 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo and winning the $320 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Max at PokerStars.

Trio of Deep Runs for Jude Ainsworth

Jude "j.thaddeus" Ainsworth climbed one place to eighth in the Irish online poker rankings on the back of a trio of deep runs. Ainsworth, a former Team PokerStars Pro, finished fourth in the Sunday High Roller for $3,967 on the same night as busting in eighth place in both the PokerStars $162 Sunday 6-Max ($3,153) and the partypoker $50,000 guarantee Weigh-In ($1,923).

Toby “Jobytoyce” Joyce also hit form with 17 top 20 finishes, with eight of those being final table appearances. The biggest of these cashes was worth $11,750 for finishing third in the $100,000 guaranteed partypoker Powerfest event, although the $5,259 he received for his third place in the Hot $55 was also on the larger side.

Shout out also to Dan “NukeTheFish!” Wilson who won the Hotter $5.50 for $3,123 and the partypoker $10,000 guaranteed Balboa for $2,948 and is now on course for a coveted online Triple Crown. Wilson also finished 14th in the Powerfest Week 4 Main Event and added $8,166 to his bankroll.
