UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: All-Time Highs All Round

UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings

  • Several UK and Ireland's top grinders find themselves at an all-time high in the worldwide online poker rankings.

Our friends at PocketFives have updated their rankings database and it makes great reading for large sections of the United Kingdom’s top 20. Some of those highly-rated players enjoyed some large scores this past week, which have resulted in them moving up their country’s rankings and also to all-time high positions in the worldwide standings.

Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford’s win in the partypoker $30,000 guaranteed 6-Max tournament netted him $11,404 and more than 200 ranking points, enough to push him to third place in the UK and 18th in the world, while “10111420” took down the PokerStars $320 Saturday Super-Knockout for $25,462 and finished in third place in both the $215 Bounty Builder ($7,754) and the $109 no-limit hold’em turbo (4,116) and now finds himself 51st in the world.

On Sunday, Phil “philroyal888” Mighall and Jamie “EzGame89” O’Connor won big at partypoker. Mighall took down Powerfest Event 87 for $45,142 with O’Connor chopping the Week 3 Main Event for $51,329. The former also finished fourth in the 888poker Baby Whale for $11,677 and now finds himself ranked 38th in the world, while O’Connor rises to an all-time high of 41st.

Newcomer to the UK rankings, “Bunkervogel,” had runner-up finishes in the Hot $162 and the $320 Saturday Super-Knockout, at PokerStars, for scores of $5,104 and $18,177, and now occupies 10th place in the UK and a career best 51st in the world.

A special mention also goes to “carpediem200” who won two tournaments at partypoker last Thursday, securing the top prizes of the $20,000 Weigh-In for $5,167 and the $30,000 guaranteed bounty for $11,269.

Tighe and Joyce Flying High

There are also some career highs for the Irish grinders thanks to Daniel “danielt999” Tighe and Toby “jobytoyce” Joyce climbing up both the Irish and worldwide standings.

Tighe is up to 190th in the world off the back winning the $530 Wednesday pot-limit Omaha high/low ($8,400) and finishing second in the $109 no-limit hold’em 6-max rebuy ($2,730) and the $109 no-limit hold’em turbo Sunday edition ($14,021) while Joyce had no fewer than eight four-figure scores last week, including one worth $8,050. Joyce now finds himself 356th in the world.

We also doff our cap to Dara “Doke” O’Kearney who secured a $14,146 payday by finishing third in partypoker’s $100,000 guaranteed Powerfest #83.
