UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Serradell Closes in on World Number One

Oscar Serradell
Sharelines
  • Oscar Serradell climbs to fourth in the world online poker rankings and is way in front in the UK standings.

  • Dan Wilson and Daniel Tighe can't stop winning!

Spain’s Bristol-based grinder, Oscar “MendaLerenda” Serradell leads the United Kingdom online poker rankings by a massive 1,305.14 points and is closing in on the worldwide number one spot as his impressive form refuses to let up.

Serradell finds himself occupying fourth place in the world standings, which is his highest-ever position. A victory in the PokerStars $109+R NL Hold’em for $8,891 was the 130th victory of Serradell’s online career, and he followed it up with a third-place finish in the same tournament a few nights later for $4,298 and was the runner-up in partypoker’s $50,000 Guaranteed Weigh-In tournament, a finish worth $7,614.

Andy “wiisssppppaa” Taylor now occupies second-place in the UK rankings, followed by Stephen “woody1234321” Woodhead in third, with Chris “Moorman1” Moorman dropping to fourth place. However, Moorman recently won the 888poker $100,000 Sunday Challenge and broke through the $13 million in online winnings barrier, but this score is yet to appear on his account. When it does, he is almost guaranteed to return to second place.

A brace of wins in the PokerStars $215 NL Hold’em Turbo (5,850) and the partypoker $30,000 Gtd High Roller ($10,500) helped push Phil “philroyal888” Mighall up to seventh-place from 11th last week, with the $35,784 won by Vicente “vicenfish” Delgado in the PokerStars Sunday 2nd Chance helping push him up to eighth place.

Also on the rise are Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford, who finished fourth in the PokerStars Sunday 500 for $23,100, and Martin “molliemalone” Malone courtesy of his third-place finish in the PokerStars Big $162 ($8,939).

Dan Wilson and Daniel Tighe Enjoy Profitable Saturdays

The Irish top 20 remains almost unchanged, thanks in part to many of those in it turning their attention to the UKIPT and European Poker Tour (EPT) festivals in their home country, but two players enjoyed some fantastic results at the virtual felt over the weekend and have moved up the rankings.

Dan “NukeTheFish!” Wilson now occupies fourth place after a couple of results at partypoker on Saturday. Wilson bust the $10,000 Gtd Rebuy in second-place for $1,661 before winning the $30,000 Gtd 6-Max on the same night for a $16,640 score.

Daniel "danielt999" Tighe hit form the night before Wilson, securing a win in the PokerStars $530 Friday 8-Game worth $7,875 before taking down the PokerStars Big $82 ($8,108) and the $109+R NL Hold’em 6-Max ($5,625) on Saturday.
