Sunday Briefing: Jamie O’Connor Fourth in the Sunday Million

Another Sunday and another set of fantastic results at the virtual felt by players calling the United Kingdom and Ireland home. One result in particular stands out from the rest, Jamie “Ship It 2010” O’Connor’s deep run in the PokerStars Sunday Million.

A bumper crowd of 5,718 took part in this week’s Sunday Million and O’Connor almost went the distance and scooped the $177,260.79 first place prize. After his {K-Hearts}{J-Spades} fell foul of the {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} of Grayson “gray31” Ramage, O’Connor bust in fourth place for a career-best score of $64,213.14

O’Connor has been in great for of late and is set to push into the top 10 of the UK online poker rankings and into the top 100 in the worldwide rankings at the next update.

A shout out has to go to O’Connor’s fellow Brit “1974cww” who also reached the Sunday Million’s final table, falling in seventh place for $25,159.20.

One of the many UK-based Spaniards, “CrackedI29,” took down the Sunday 500 this weekend for $57,562.50 while another of our favourite imports, Dominik “Bounatirou” Nitsche chopped the Sunday 2nd Chance for $29,000.00.

Fresh from a big score last Sunday, “saladinhoo” finished second in the Bigger $109 for $26,784.00 with “bluet0m89” adding $11,377.67 to his bankroll after finishing fifth in the Sunday Supersonic.

This week’s Full Tilt Sunday Major saw “GumnetDaurat” finish eighth for $1,590.00 and “Sputnick_PT” bust in second place for $9,000.00.

Once again there was plenty to get excited about over at 888poker, which has proven to be a happy hunting ground for our players, particularly on Sundays. Chris “WhatWudJSay” Moorman got the ball rolling with an eighth place in the $100,000 Sunday Challenge for $2,284.48 while “peterpan_33.” Took down the $50,000 Turbo Mega Deep for $12,538.80.

evianwater1” walked away with $14,671.80 for their third place finish in the $120,000 Mega Deep, a result bettered by “Derharry69” who secured the $35,968.74 first place prize in the $150,000 Whale.

Finally, the results stemming from partypoker, where Andy “ajh26” Holman walked away with top honours in the $150,000 guaranteed High Roller for $28,520.80, and where Daryl “D_J_G_1989” Green finished seventh in the $150,000 guaranteed Main Event for $4,949.75
