  • 888Live tournament series kicks off 2016 on the Austrian ski slopes.

888Live, the low-buy-in live tournament series by 888poker, has announced the first event of 2016 will head to the majestic mountains of Austria.

Austria has been a popular winter destination for 888poker players, and this time around the experience takes place at the Innsbruck Igls – Patscherkofel resort from Feb. 4-7, 2016 with an action-packed ski and poker VIP experience.

Players are already excited about the prospect of not only enjoying exhilarating ski activities, but also the vibrant nightlife at the Grauer Baer Hotel where they'll be staying. Of course, there is also fantastic poker to be had with the $400 buy-in 888Live Austria Main Event boasting a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Among those expected to be in attendance is three-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Dominik Nitsche. You can join Nitsche and the many others planning to enjoy the slopes with hopes of winning big money in the Main Event through a plethora of qualifiers — starting at just $0.01 — taking place online at 888poker.

Players that win their ticket for this ski adventure will receive a 888Live Austria package valued at $1,700 which includes everything listed below.

  • Three nights accommodation (Feb. 4-7) at the Grauer Baer Hotel
  • $400 tournament buy-in to the $50,000 888Live Austria Main Event
  • $500 in travel money
  • Ski activities at Innsbruck Igls – Patscherkofel.
  • 888Live kit
  • Special prizes during the 888Live Austria Main Event & Bounty Free Tournament

Last winter, 888Live Austria was a huge success with buy-ins eclipsing the guarantee to generate a €45,540 ($52,595) prize pool. Germany's Thorsten Facius recorded his first live tournament cash by winning the event for €13,000 ($15,014).
