It is not uncommon to see Las Vegas casinos and resorts follow a particular theme. The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino is a carnival, the Excalibur is a medieval Europe theme, and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what New York New York is trying to replicate.
Now the Scottish city of Glasgow has its own themed casino. Located in the basement of the Corinthian Club, The Cotton Club is a 1920s-themed boutique casino and cocktail lounge that boasts of vintage-style gaming, drinking and dining in a two-tier speakeasy setting.
The new casino opened its doors to the public on November 20, 2015, and has already proven to be a hit with those who have paid it a visit.
Scott Kinkaid, the Operations Manager of The Cotton Club, is delighted with how the public has received the casino and is excited for the future.
“We are delighted to have launched The Cotton Club and to be bringing Glasgow something entirely different to the city’s current casino offering. In fact, The Cotton Club offers a brand new casino concept to rival anything in the UK, outside of London. The Cotton Club is a high-quality venue, open to both those who want to enjoy Glasgow’s finest gaming offering, and those who are just looking to have a bit of a chat over some classic cocktails and snacks.
“The 1920s speakeasy vibe is felt throughout the casino and is a key part of the overall experience – in everything from the dusky atmosphere and music to the staff’s vintage, bespoke uniforms. We are excited to be bringing something distinct and entertaining to the table but, overall, we want to provide a friendly and safe environment for late-night Glasgow revellers.”
The Cotton Club is located on the former site of the Mash & Press cellar bar on Ingram Street, Merchant City. Players can bet on Fixed Odd Betting Terminals and electronic roulette from noon, then from 7:00 pm the American Roulette, Blackjack, Three Card poker and Punto Banco tables come alive in the subterranean gambling haven.
