UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Moorman Returns to Form

Chris "Moorman1" Moorman
  • Chris Moorman returns to form and the top 10 of the United Kingdom online poker rankings.

  • Dara O'Kearney climbs to ninth place in Ireland.

  • Oscar Serradell and Andy Taylor keeping tabs on Patrick Leonard.

It appears that Chris “mooman1” Moorman has returned to form, and that spells bad news for anyone who dares take him on at the virtual felt.

Moorman, the only online poker tournament player with more than $10 million in cashes, won a $500,000 guaranteed tournament at Americas Cardroom for $36,900 on November 9 and has since gone on to show he is back to his brilliant best.

A win in the Sunday Supersonic for $47,032 significantly boosted his bankroll, as did the $5,884 he collected for winning the PokerStars Hot $33. Throw into the mix third place finished in the PokerStars $215 NL Hold’em Turbo ($3,451), the 888poker $10,000 Tornado ($1,560), and a $30,000 guaranteed at Americas Cardroom ($3,176) and you can see what we mean by Moorman being on fire.

Stephen “woody1234321” Woodhead is another player who can seemingly do no wrong at the tables of late, and he’s now knocking on the door of a top five ranking in the United Kingdom. His recent impressive results include a third place finish in a PokerStars $109 NL Hold’em Turbo, a win in the Big $162 ($14,079) also at PokerStars, and taking down the Fat Tuesday at Full Tilt for $7,158.

At present, it is Patrick “pleno1” Leonard who is in second place on the leaderboard behind Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer. However, both Oscar “MendaLerenda” Serradell and Andy “wiisssppppaa” Taylor are now hot on his heels.

Serradell closed the gap on Leonard by winning the PokerStars Big $162 for $17,428 while Taylor’s third place finish in the 888poker Sunday Crocodile for $8,492 and his ninth place finish in the Super Tuesday for $8,366 made sure he too is keeping tabs on Leonard and Co.

Dara O’Kearney Returns to the Irish Top 10

Across the Irish Sea, Dara “Doke” O’Kearney has returned to the Irish top 10 following his own surge in form. O’Kearney chopped the PokerStars Sunday Supersonic on November 8 for $36,393 and a few days later won the $11 NL Hold’em at PokerStars for $1,755. The popular long-distance runner then won the 888poker $5,000 Cyclone for $1,587, and is now up to ninth in Ireland.

Michael “BIGMICKG” Graydon is another player climbing the rankings this week; he’s now up to 11th and should go higher at the next update by Graydon won a PokerStars $82 NL Hold’em 6-Max Hyper Turbo on November 12 for $4,228 and won the same event on November 17 for $3,162. Graydon rounded off a great week by finishing second in the new partypoker Uppercut for $6,200, although those last two results have not yet been added to his points tally due to them coming too late to be included.
