UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Tom Hall Enters UK Top 20

Tom Hall

  • Tom "Jabracada" Hall enters the top 20 of the United Kingdom online poker rankings.

  • Sergio "EV4dGloryOMC" Garcia untouchable in Ireland

Tom “Jabracada” Hall has taken a place in the United Kingdom online poker rankings’ top 20 after the latest update by The 26-year old from Shrewsbury is widely regarded as one of the best tournament players on the planet, and the $1.793 million he has won from online MTTs only tells part of the story.

Hall is something of a satellite specialist. Some may say he is up there with the best in this format. However, PocketFives don’t track results in satellite tournaments, but if they did you’d see Hall ranked much higher than he currently is.

Deep runs in the partypoker Pokerfest $60,000 guaranteed (10th for $1,146) and the $150,000 guaranteed High Roller (15th for $2,275) have helped push Hall into the top 20 and if he continues he recent trend of playing tournaments eligible for the rankings, he is sure to climb even higher by the time 2015 ends.

Still at the top of the UK standings, and now second in the world, is Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer who seems to be enjoying a purple patch of form. The highlight of Brammer’s week was a runner-up finish in the PokerStars Sunday Supersonic for $33,939, not bad work if you can get it.

Stephen Woodhead is another player who is in form and that good form continued this week with a fifth place in the 888poker $150,000 Whale worth $9,463. Woodhead is now occupying the 11th place slot, but the rankings are so tightly packed that just one decent result will see him climb at least three spots.

Shout outs too to Sam “TheSquid” Grafton, star of Unibet Poker’s live stream, who enjoyed a solid Saturday thanks to winning the Hot €25 ($867) and the PokerStars $55 NL Hold’em Hyper ($2,404) in addition to finishing second in the PokerStars $55 NL Hold’em ($1,403) and third in the Hot €50 ($902).

Sergio Garcia Seemingly Unstoppable

It was a quiet week for the ladies and gentlemen of the Emerald Isle this week, partly due to the 2015 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) coming to an end, the Full Tilt International Poker Open (IPO) Dublin festival and the in-running European Poker Tour (EPT) Malta festival taking a large number of the Irish grinders away from their computers.

One man based in Ireland, Spain’s Sergio “EV4dGloryOMC” Garcia seems to have shunned the live arena to concentrate on his online poker exploits and it is paying off judging by the fact he is now almost 1,200 points ahead of Kevin “SuitedAcesBaby” Killeen in second place.

Garcia doesn’t go a week without seeing a five-figure score hit one of his accounts, and this week was no different. Garcia took down the Full Tilt Sunday Major for $15,375 and also helped himself to the $5,580 second place prize in the 888poker $30,000 Octopus, the $1,320 sixth place prize in the Full Tilt Super Sized Sunday and then finished third in the partypoker $50,000 guaranteed for $7,314.

Can anyone catch Garcia?
