Another Sunday has been and gone and once again British players have excelled in online poker’s largest tournaments, the Sunday Majors.
By far the largest score of the weekend is now nestled in the PokerStars account of one Nayeem Syed, who plays at PokerStars under the alias “dancingbudha.” Syed is usually found frequenting low-to-mid stakes tournaments, but is known to take shots at higher buy-in games. One such shot came in May 2015 when he entered the Sunday 500 and went on to finish second for $50,250.
Now Syed can brag of an even larger cash haul after he navigated his way to a third place finish in this weekend’s Sunday Million, a superb result that banked the Londoner $91,046.16.
Syed was joined on the final table by his fellow Brit, Rhys “floppinhel” Jones. He fell in sixth place and walked away with $35,932.00 for his efforts, a great Sunday for both players.
Bertie “bigstealer” Bayley, a two-time Supernova Elite, finished third in the Sunday Rebuy for a cool $22,512.90, while “SharkBoy217” collected $16,848.00 for his fifth place finish in the Sunday 500.
Keeping with PokerStars and onto the Bigger $162 where Oliver “ollip_p” Price chopped heads-up with UK-based Spaniard “Granter7777” and walked away with $30,900.00 and in the Sunday 6-Max Ben “1Don’tStop1” Heath and Andy “wiisssppppaa” Taylor finished fifth and fourth for scores of $5,265.00 and $7,371.00.
Shout out too to Tom “Mt.Spewmore” Langley who won the Bigger $75 outright for $18,485.64.
Over at 888poker, Michael Chi “mczhang” Zhang finished in first place in the $150,000 Mega Deep for $25,538.52 and was joined at the final table by fellow Brits Tom “sheeeeeeeeet” Hall and Paul “Senta99” Senter who finished fourth and fifth for $11,666.70 and $8,143.20.
“plizmuck” collected $7,971.45 for his fourth place finish in the $100,000 Sunday Challenge.
The biggest score at Full Tilt this Sunday went to “duffmon” who chopped the Sunday Brawl heads-up for $7,948.88 before finishing in second place.
Toby "810ofclubs" Lewis came close to winning The T-Rex but ultimately fell in fourth place for $1,537.50, while “Ultraballs18” bust in eighth place in the Super Sized Sunday for $747.93 and “woody2sky” fell in fifth place for $1,199.70 in the Turbo Multi-Hundo.
There was plenty to shout about over at partypoker this week, where Tom “Jabracada” Hall finished sixth in the $40,000 Guaranteed for $2,395.20. Also boosting their partypoker account balance were Patrick “thebigdog09” Brooks thanks to his sixth place finish in the $150K Guaranteed for $6,709.65 and to “Crackdel29” who finished fourth in the same tournament for $10,273.15 and followed that impressive result up with a fourth place finish in the $100,000 Gtd High Roller for an additional $8,568.
With Pokerfest starting this Sunday, expect more big scores for players from the UK & Ireland at partypoker.
