The last time we took a look at the 2015 World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) results and statistics we discovered that players from the United Kingdom and Ireland were bossing the PokerStars virtual felt.
Ten events were completed at that time, now another 13 have been written into the history book and a further three are currently paused and waiting for Day 2 to begin.
Patrick “pads1161” Leonard secured the second largest online cash of his career so far by taking down WCOOP-17: $700 NL Hold’em 6-Max 3-Stack for $108,415.51. Leonard’s biggest win came in March 2014 when he collected $110,875 for his ninth place finish in the Sunday Million 8th Anniversary special.
Sadly for everyone keeping score at home, Leonard’s impressive victory is credited to Hungary’s results and not his native UK because it is the country where Leonard now resides.
Leonard was joined at the final table by fellow Brit “HKN2910209” who fell in fifth place for $30,292.41” while “cheeky4714” narrowly missed out on a final table appearance, busting in eighth place for $11,798.09.
London’s “10111420” should climb a few spots in the UK online poker rankings this week – he’s currently 13th – on the back of him winning his largest-ever amount, namely the princely sum of $85,368.81. He was part of a three-way deal in WCOOP-20: $109 NL Hold’em Optional Re-Entry before crashing out in second place.
A chunky five-figure score made its way to “raconteur” who finished as runner-up in the $1,050 buy-in 7-Card Stud Hi/lo Championship. The Brit won $28,675.00 for his second place, while high-stakes regular Talal “raidalot” Shakerchi walked away with $8,325.00 for finishing in sixth.
WCOOP-15: $215 PL Omaha 1R1A had three Union Jacks displayed at its final table, those belonging to Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer (seventh for $10,003.20), “MeJohann” (sixth for $13,129.20) and Ben “vindog03” Vinson (fifth for $16,255.20).
The Irish contingent continue to put in some great performances too, with “GaryT20” banking $10,174.50 in prize money and $4,345.69 in bounties in WCOOP-21: $530 NL Hold’em Progressive Super-Knockout and “rtspurs” winning $19,120.00 for his fourth place in WCOOP-22: $1,050 Omaha Hi/Lo Championship.
