Don't Miss Out on the 13-Event Season 5 UKIPT Isle of Man Series from October 1-4

UKIPT Isle of Man
  • The UKIPT Isle of Man Main Event commands a £400+£40 buy-in

  • Josh Hart is the reigning champion having won the Main Event in 2014 for £57,484

On Thursday, the UK & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) will head to the Isle of Man at the historic Villa Marina venue in Douglas. From October 1-4, the stop will feature non-stop poker action, including 13 PokerStars-sanctioned events.

"Located in the Irish Sea, the Isle of Man is a British Crown Dependency and has been the home of PokerStars since 2005," PokerStars boasts. "With a thriving poker scene, friendly locals, and a venue right on the sea front, UKIPT Isle of Man will be one of the most unforgettable stops on Season 5."

Interestingly, the stop will also play host to the Isle of Man International Chess Tournament, which will run from October 2-11.

"Any player who has attended a PokerStars-sponsored live poker tournament knows how fun and profitable they can be."

The stop, which requires players only be 18 years old, includes 13 events with the premier event being a £400 + £40 Main Event, which the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to capture the action. Of course players will have the opportunity to use the My Stack app to update their hands and chip counts straight into the live blog.

"Any player who has attended a PokerStars-sponsored live poker tournament knows how fun and profitable they can be," said PokerNews Editor-in-Chief Donnie Peters. "The UKIPT Isle of Man epitomises those two things, by bringing together an affordable, but marquee poker tournament with a fun experience both on and off the felt. For those who can’t afford the €5,000 price tag of European Poker Tour events, the UKIPT is where it’s at."

Last year, 24-year-old Josh Hart topped a field of 402 players to secure his first ever UKIPT title and £57,484. Hart, a 24 year-old online professional, made a heads-up deal with Irishman Ciaran Heaney where they virtually chopped the prize money and played for £5,000 and the title.
