  • Former world number one, Christopher Brammer, returns to the top spot of the UK online poker rankings

  • Sam Grafton now 11th in the UK following his runner-up finish in the partypoker $150,000 guaranteed

  • Sergio Garcia is running away with things in the Irish standings

Former world number one, Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer, returns to the top of the UK online poker rankings this week following his victory in the PokerStars Super Tuesday on August 11.

Brammer added $106,780 to his lifetime winnings when he took down the Super Tuesday and also collected 749.67 leader board points, which proved to be enough to jump three places from fourth to first in the UK standings. The victory has also resulted in Brammer soaring up the worldwide rankings to 30th place.

Spain’s Oscar “MendaLerenda” Serradell retains his second place position thanks in part to finishing as runner-up in the 888poker $50,000 Volcano for $14,450 while Chris “moorman1” Moorman drops to third place despite winning the PokerStars $215 NL Hold’em Turbo Re-Entry ($7,222) and the $82 NL Hold’em Hyper Turbo 6-Max ($2,467) and finishing third in the Full Tilt Fat Tuesday ($6,504).

Up to fourth this week is another former world number one, Patrick “pleno1” Leonard. The Hungary-based Brit came fourth in the PokerStars Sunday 500 for $24,622 and finished third in the Big $75 ($4,418).

A runner-up finish in the Bigger $162 for $25,388 at PokerStars for Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford sees him move up one place to sixth, with Andy “andyh26” Holman also moving up one place to seventh.

Two other Brits have vastly improved their ranking this week.

Sam “TheSquid” Grafton is now ranked 11th in the UK and 119th in the world after two excellent results in last weekend’s Sunday Majors. Grafton won the version of the Supersonic ($4,965) and then finished second in the partypoker $150,000 Guaranteed ($17,910).

Jon “EMSBas” Spinks is the other high climber, returning to the top 20 for the first time in several months after hitting a purple patch of form. A win in the PokerStars $215 Sunday Warm-Up for $63,171 was the highlight of Spinks’ week.

Sergio Garcia’s Dominance Continues in Ireland

Sergio “EV4dGloryOMC” Garcia continues to pull away from the chasing pack in the Irish rankings and is now knocking on the door of a top 10 worldwide ranking.

Garcia broke through the 6,000 point barrier this week and now has 1,664.71 cushion between himself and second placed Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas. Garcia has been one of the world’s most consistent performers this year and there isn’t a week that goes by that he doesn’t add a five-figure score to his profile. He is now only $40,000 away from being able to brag about having $1 million in cashes, something we think he’ll achieve before August ends.

A win in the Full Tilt Benjamin ($3,200) and in the partypoker $25,000 Gtd ($6,124) helped push Jude “j.thaddeus” Ainsworth into fifth place

Dan Rankin, known as “DatWillDoPig,” climbs three places to 12th in Ireland and once Andrew “UlDuffer” Sweeney’s fourth place in this week’s Super Tuesday is added to his profile he should vastly improve his 13th place.
