2015 Sky Poker 6-Max UKPC Less Than a Week Away

  • £500+£50 buy-in Main Event features a £250,000 prize pool

Fans of short-handed poker tournaments, something of a rarity in the live poker world, are set to descend on Dusk Till Dawn from August 19 through to August 23 when the Sky Poker 6-Max UK Poker Championships heads to the Nottingham club.

It is the second time that Sky Poker has run its six-max UK Poker Championships (UKPC) and if the previous edition, which ran in August 2014, is any indication of what to expect then players are in for a treat.

Featuring four short-handed events, the 2015 Sky Poker 6-Max UKPC gives players the chance to play for big money in a high-octane and intense format.

Kicking off the festival is a £1,500+£150 Mo Limit Hold’em High Roller event that is sure to attract some of the very best poker players in the business. Last year’s High Roller commanded a buy-in twice the size of this one and attracted 60-entries. Elior Sion was the victor, defeating Craig McCorkell heads-up to claim the £55,000 first place prize.

This cut-price High Roller gives more players the opportunity to play in it without being so cheap that it ruins the exclusivity attached to such events.

The Sky Poker 6-Max UKPC Main Event has also been trimmed with the buy-in for 2015 being £500+£50 instead of £1,000. Featuring a £250,000 guaranteed prize pool, the Main Event still offers plenty of bang for your buck and while the first place prize will be substantially less than the £110,000 that Leigh Wiltshire (pictured) added to his bankroll when he won this event in 2014, the prize money will still be potentially life-changing for anyone who is fortunate to leave Nottingham with it.

There are a few last minute satellites running at Sky Poker that give you the chance to play in the 6-Max UKPC Main Event for as little as £1.30. The last final, a £120 buy-in with 20 seats guaranteed, takes place at 9:15 p.m on August 16 and could be your best chance to win a £550 seat as it awards them to one-in-five entrants.
