UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Conor Beresford Re-Enters Top 10

UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings

  • Six victories in a week for high-volume grinder, Tomas Geleziunas

  • Supernova Elite, Conor Beresford, up to ninth in the UK rankings

  • Spain's Sergio Garcia dominates in Ireland.

A brace of wins on Saturday and a trio of final table appearances on Sunday have helped lift Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford back into the top 10 of the PocketFives UK Online Poker Rankings.

Beresford, who is a Supernova Elite at PokerStars, climbed from 15th place to ninth this week thanks in part to winning both the $44 NL Hold’em Turbo ($2,616) and the $109 NL Hold’em Turbo Progressive Super-Knockout ($4,798) on Saturday.

Sunday was a day of near misses for the York-born six-max hyper-turbo sit ‘n’ go specialist, with him finishing fifth, seventh and eighth in the Sunday 2nd Chance, the Sunday 500 and the $215 NL Hold’em Turbo Sunday Edition, although collectively those final tables netted Beresford $22,571.

Ben “jenbizzle” Jones is another player to improve his position in the UK standings this week. Jones won the Full Tilt Saturday Six-Max ($2,672) and then had three Sunday Major final tables. A fourth place in The Hotter $75 (8,438), and seventh place in the $109 Sunday Rebuy (6,094) helped Jones secure 13th place in the UK rankings.

Up to 14th place this week, an increase of five places, is Charlie “chaz_man_chaz” Combes. The Winchester grinder, who has almost $5.4 million in online tournament winnings, gave his points tally a significant boost when he finished fourth in the PokerStars Sunday 500 ($22,988) and won the $27 NL Hold’em Turbo Knockout ($2,179), also at PokerStars.

Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas Jumps 11 Places in the Irish Standings

Gelziunas, the former Irish number one, has the ability to put in some incredible volume at the virtual felt, as is evident by his 78 cashes in the past week alone.

Across the Irish Sea, Sergio “EV4dGloryOMC” Garcia continues to crush any tournament he plays – or so it seems – and has put a gap of 1,560.77 points between himself and second placed Cathal “shinerrr” Shine. Garcia is going to take some catching, but if Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas keeps up his current form, he’ll at least keep tabs on the runaway Spaniard.

Gelziunas, the former Irish number one, has the ability to put in some incredible volume at the virtual felt, as is evident by his 78 cashes in the past week alone. Nineteen of those 78 cashes have resulted in final table appearance with six of those finals ending with Geleziunas as the last man standing.

Also in top form is Dan “NukeTheFish! Wilson who helped himself to a hat trick of wins this week. The man from Galway won the $55+R NL Hold’em Turbo Big Antes ($4,475), the $109 NL Hold’em Turbo Re-Entry ($2,700) and the $27 NL Hold’em Turbo Knockout ($4,359) at PokerStars. Wilson almost made it four wins but fell one place short and finished as runner-up in the $55+R NL Hold’em Turbo Big Antes that he won a couple of days previously.
