This Sunday was the first since the 2015 World Series of Poker (WSOP) went on a four-month hiatus and it appears that the players who call the United Kingdom and Ireland home have returned to the virtual felt with renewed vigour judging by the excellent result in this week’s Sunday Majors.
There were three of our stars at the final table of The Sunday Brawl at Full Tilt, with one of them walking away with the victory. Scotland’s “TrickyOne14” fell in eighth place for $2,060 while Ireland’s Kevin “SuitedAcesBaby” Killeen collected $2,719.20 for his seventh place finish. However, it was Niall “Firaldo87” Farrell who won the whole shebang, claiming the title and $18,128.00.
It was a similar story in the Super Sized Sunday where four of our players helped make up the final table.
Stephen “stevie444” Chidwick saw his tournament end in seventh place ($2,212.50) with Michael “RipCheader” Rosaman finishing two places higher and winning $4,425.00. Ireland’s “Kaypee” bust in third place ($7,817.50) leaving “carpediem123” to win this week’s tournament for $17,700.00.
Keeping with Full Tilt and Kevin Killeen reached another final table, that of the Big Ben. The European Poker Tour (EPT) London finalist finished in ninth place for $691.84.
Christopher “MAKKAPAKK” Johnson won $1,500.00 by finishing in sixth place in The T-Rex and “c0rbl1meyguv” walked away with $2,529.83 after finishing in fifth place in the Turbo Multi-Hundo.
Over at PokerStars, many of our players enjoyed the sweet taste of success and added big amounts to their bankrolls.
Irish grinder Paul “uWannaLoan?” Delaney took down The Bigger $75 and scooped $12,572.38 after a three-way chop. Part of that chop was Ben “Fabaz” Farrell who finished third yet collected the most prize money, $12,800.50 to be exact.
The Hotter $33 saw “StackBeast1” and “shiraz195383” finish in fifth and sixth place for scores of $3,192.75 and $2,483.25 while in The Hotter $75, Ben “jenbizzle” Jones ran out of steam in fourth place, a finish worth $8,438.35.
Two Brits reached the final table of The Hotter $55, namely Albert “AAcesFueL” Chuns (fourth for $7,353.00) and “1truegambler” (eighth for $1,776.97), while in The Sunday Kickoff, Ireland’s John “Zippppppy147” Mackey collected $6,091.80 for his seventh place finish, “nutscrack27” $7,653.80 for his fifth place and Christopher “rspca12” Cuncliffe a career-best $15,000.00 for his fourth place finish.
The big scores kept coming with Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas winning $19,719.00 for his fifth place in The Sunday Warm-Up, the aforementioned Ben “jenbizzle” Jones banking $6,093.75 for finishing seventh in the Sunday Rebuy and “wozzle9” earning $24,412.50 for his seventh place in the Sunday Million.
Don’t switch off just yet because there’s more! Charlie “JIZOINT” Combes finished fourth in the Sunday 500 for $22,987.50 and Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford helped himself to the $9,961.25 seventh place prize in the same event before going on to finish in fifth place in the Sunday 2nd Chance for an additional $10,090.08 – “Crackedel29” finished eighth in that last tournament for $4,104.10.
The player known as “LearnToFlyy” came fifth in The Bigger $162 for $9,815.85 with the final big Stars score going to “emran86” who secured a $24,311.56 for his third place finish in the Sunday Supersonic.
Not wanting to be left out of the Sunday Briefing, Mark “SizzlerG” Gallagher chopped the partypoker $40,000 Guaranteed three ways for $5,468.09 before finishing as runner-up, while the ever-popular Sam “samy_squid” Grafton continued his fine run of form and helped himself to fifth place money in the $150,000 Guaranteed, namely $7,830.
Rounding off the Sunday Briefing this week are the results at 888poker.
First, “I_Rage__Quit” scooped $3,718.00 when he finished seventh in the $100,000 Mega Deep, outlasting fellow Brit “ZombieJesus” by two place, the latter winning $1,750.32.
In the $75,000 Sunday Challenge, Andy “Andy.69.Nuts” Veselov finished ninth for $1,210.80. “radasahk” went in seventh place for $2,623.40 with Derby’s Marc “fcukyourmom” Grand busting in fifth place for $4,310.44.
Lastly, Daniel “scrotusD” Carter took his lifetime online winnings past the $1.35 million barrier with a win in the $30,000 Sunday Crocodile for $9,491.17.
