UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Phil Mighall Enters UK Top 20

UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings

As you would expect during the 2015 World Series of Poker (WSOP), the online poker world has slowed down from its usual frantic pace, but that’s not to say there’s not been any big results had by players from the UK and Ireland because there has.

Still at the top of the UK online poker rankings is London-based Italian Mustapha Kanit followed by Chris Moorman and Patrick Leonard.

Mounting a charge on the top spot is the Bristol-based Spaniard Oscar “MendaLerenda” Serradell who thanks to a ninth place finish in the 888poker $100,000 Mega Deep ($1,920), and two fourth place finishes in the $215 NL Hold’em Turbo ($3,588) and $109 NL Hold’em Turbo ($3,304) at PokerStars, climbs to fourth place this week.

The UK top 20 has a new face in it this week, that of Brighton’s Phil “philroyal888” Mighall who finds himself occupying 16th place in the UK and a career-high of 141st in the world.

In 2014, Mighall finished fifth in the partypoker WPT UK Main Event for £48,000 but more recently he won the $530 Monday PL Omaha 6-Max for $14,430 and the $109 NL Hold’em Turbo for $17,478 at PokerStars, impressive results sandwiched between a third place in the PokerStars Big $162 ($8,186) and a third place in the Full Tilt Super Sized Sunday ($8,161).

We’ll be keeping our eye on the in-form grinder in the coming weeks.

Daragh Davey and Dara O’Kearney Climb the Irish Ladder

Two of Ireland’s favourite players, Dara Davey and Dara O’Kearney have climbed the Irish standings this week after a string of deep runs.

Davey won the $2,000 Guaranteed 6-Max Turbo and then finished third in the $2,500 Guaranteed Turbo Deep at 888poker before finishing as runner-up in The Hot €100 at and in the PokerStars $27 NL Hold’em 6-Max Hyper before winning the Full Tilt $10 Friday Night Fight.

Doke” helped his rank by collecting the $6,638 runner-up prize in the PokerStars $162 Nightly Thirty-Five Grand, by finishing second in the PokerStars $82 NL Hold’em 6-Max Hyper, fourth in The Big $27.50 and then third in the PokerStars $162 Nightly Thirty-Five Grand.

Another Ireland-based player in top form is Steve “MrTimCaum” O’Dwyer who looks to be missing the WSOP to concentrate on his online game. So far, it seems to be working with O’Dwyer winning the $55 NL Hold’em rebuy for $2,535, finishing third in The Bigger $109 for $20,590 and then third in the recent Super Tuesday for $48,510 all at PokerStars, plus a fifth place in the Full Tilt Super Sized Sunday for $4,708 thrown in for good measure.
