UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Christopher Brammer Climbs Three Places

Christopher Brammer

The summer months are traditionally quiet times in the online poker world due to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) taking place in Las Vegas and the fact a huge ball of fire often flies high in the sky which in itself is a good enough excuse for players to step away from their computers and head out into the world.

This time of year, with some many of the world’s more established players being in Las Vegas, the fields in the high stakes online tournaments are softer and one man who is taking full advantage of this fact is the former world number one in the online poker rankings, Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer.

Brammer climbed three places to eighth in the UK standing this week on the back of three solid results. A win in the $55 NL Hold’em Deep Stacks for $1,752 came a day after Brammer finished 58th in the Sunday Million ($1,842) and reached fourth place in the Sunday 500 ($24,362) all at PokerStars.

I’m not sure if Brammer is going to head to Vegas this summer but if he continues in his current form he may not want to.

Another player in form is Jareth “jareth3542” East. Last week, East finished as runner-up in the Full Tilt Stack Event #10 for $9,043 and had several deep runs in PokerStars events including a runner-up finish in the $55 NL Hold’em ($2,242) and a third place in the $51 NL Hold’em Hyper ($3,891).

Jumping to 18th place in the UK this week is Sam “TheSquid” Grafton who seems to be putting in a lot of volume of late. Since June 3, Grafton has cashed more than 70 times, reached 26 final tables when he has cashes and won six tournaments outright. Impressive results we’re sure you’ll agree.

Solid Results From the Irish Boys

There’s been plenty to should about over in the Emerald Isle this past week with a number of the players in the current Irish top 20 bagging some impressive scores.

Spain’s Sergio “EV4dGloryOMC” Garcia is still the man to catch in the Irish standings and if he continues in his current form he will be very difficult to catch. Wins in the PokerStars $55 NL Hold’em ($2,594), $55 NL Hold’em Rebuy ($2,380), the $215 Weekly 6-Max ($10,488), and in the 888poker Breeze ($1,840) all helped keep Garcia on top.

A runner-up finish in the MAGNUM for $2,296 and a fourth place finish in the GRAND TOURNAMENT for $13,141 at Winamax for Jude “j.thaddeus” Ainsworth helped to keep the pressure on Garcia, while Kevin “SuitedAcesBaby” Killeen’s brace of runner-up finishes in the PokerStars Big $55 ($9,870) and The Big $162 ($10,500) have boosted his morale and bankroll.

Dan “NukeTheFish!” Wilson collected $6,075 and $3,489 for his runner-up finish in The Hot $75 and his fifth place in The Big $55 both at PokerStars, Dara “Doke” O’Kearney won the Supersonic for $5,405 and Michael “BIGMICKG” Graydon won the PokerStars $82 NL Hold’em 6-Max Hyper for $3,236 and finishes as runner-up in a recent Hot $55 at PokerStars for $7,294.
