Bristol’s poker-loving foodies have the chance to eat for free in July as the PokerStars “All-in Kitchen” heads to the United Kingdom’s eight-most populous city in preparation for the upcoming UKIPT festival.
This marks the second time that PokerStars has teamed up with a restaurant to give diners a poker experience and the chance to win their meal for free. Although there is no obligation to play any poker at the pop-up restaurant, it makes perfect sense to do so because it results in a substantial discount even if you lose.
When the inaugural All-In Kitchen launched in January 2015 as part of the UKIPT London festival, it was Jones & Son who provided the tasty dishes. This time round it is Pata Negra, a Spanish restaurant in the centre of Bristol that is cooking for the poker players.
A meal consists of a tasting menu of poker-themed hot and cold tapas and dessert worth £18, but play your cards right, literally, and you could be dining for free.
Players are seated and then play three hands of poker. Whoever has the largest stack after those three hands eats for free, while the owner of the second largest stack receives a £10 discount. The third largest stack has £5 knocked off the bill and pays only £13 for a three-course gourmet meal.
The All-In Kitchen is open from 6:00 p.m on Monday 27 July and closes at 11:00 p.m on Wednesday 29 July. Tickets are free – and limited to two per person – and be requested via this link.
While Lady Luck rules supreme over three hands of poker, it won’t harm your chances to hone your poker skills before heading to Pata Negra.
