2015 WSOP: UK & Ireland Players Win $4.3 Million Through Event 49

Simon Deadman, Stephen Chidwick and Stuart Rutter

When we last looked at the 2015 World Series of Poker (WSOP) cashes by UK & Ireland players, we discovered that through 28 completed events, our grinders had reached the money places 118-times and had won $2,141,551 in the process.

Today, after the completion of an additional 21 events, those numbers have grown even more impressive.

Through Event #49, players from the UK & Ireland have notched up a total of 194 cashes between them – 195 if you include Andy Black’s final table appearance in Event #47 that has gone to a fourth day – reached 19 final tables, won two coveted gold bracelets and have combined winnings of a staggering $4,306,471.

It was John Gale, winner of Event #18, who had won the largest sum of money in a single event when we last checked in. However, the $298,290 that he won has been eclipsed by the $391,446 that Simon Deadman collected for finishing second in Event #32.

Deadman is enjoying a superb series so far thanks to that aforementioned huge cash but also because he’s reached the money on three more occasions and won $47,526 for his troubles, taking his total winnings so far to $438,972 and is now atop of the UK & Ireland leader boards.

Still out in front in terms of money finishes is Craig McCorkell on five for the series. McCorkell’s winnings total $106,480 to date and we’d bet good money on him added to that total before he returns home to the UK.

McCorkell is tied for top spot with Stephen Chidwick and Stuart Rutter, the former narrowly missed out on his first WSOP bracelet when he finished in second place in Event #42. That result netted the man from Deal $180,529 and took his 2015 WSOP tally to $243,194.

Rutter’s cashes are also impressive, weighing in at $125,869.

Others with multiple cashes include John Gale (4), David Vamplew (4), Marc Macdonnell (4), Niall Farrell (4), Adam Owen (3), Andrew Teng (3), Ben Dobson (3), Ben Warrington (3), Chris Moorman (3), Gavin O’Rourke (3), Martins Adeniya (3), and Sebastian Saffari (3).
