Live Legs of the $1 Million Guaranteed partypoker Grand Prix Million Begin

partypoker Grand Prix Million

One of the most eagerly anticipated poker tournaments of the year, the partypoker Grand Prix Million, has been running online for a couple of weeks now, but today marks the start of the live starting flights at Dusk Till Dawn (DTD) in Nottingham.

The first live Day 1 kicked off at midday on Friday 15 May with another schedule to begin at 5:00 p.m. on the same day. Both Saturday and Sunday feature two flights, Monday and Tuesday see one flight each with two per day next Thursday and Friday.

Each of the starting flights, whether online at partypoker or live at DTD, cost $100+$20 to enter and for that affordable sum players receive a generous helping of 50,000 starting chips and play to a 30-minute clock (12-minuts for the online legs).

DTD owner, Rob Yong, needs 10,000 entries in total otherwise he and his team face the daunting prospect of having to add money to the massive $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. Yong revealed in a recent blog, written in his usual candid style, that the first two online legs generated 830 entries combined, leaving a shortfall of 9,170 needing filling over the next 10 days.

As part of the recent partnership between partypoker and DTD, players can only buy into – and re-enter if they wish – via funds deposited into their partypoker accounts, so if you don’t have a partypoker account and wish to play in the Grand Prix Million we suggest downloading partypoker via UK & Ireland PokerNews today.

Do you think 10,000 entries will be processed or has Rob Yong been far too ambitious in his attempt to bring a seven-figure prize pool to the grassroots level? Let us know in the comments box below.
