GUKPT Returns to Edinburgh; Main Event April 23

The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) is north of the border for the second annual GUKPT Edinburgh festival. Having hosted a popular stop during Season 8, the Grosvenor Maybury Casino welcomes the long-running tour’s third leg of its ninth season.
When the GUKPT last dropped anchor in Edinburgh, 150 entrants bought 42 re-entries between them, which left a £4,000 overlay on the £100,000 guaranteed prize pool. The main beneficiary of this added cash was Andrew Teng who took down the £500+£50 buy-in Main Event, collecting £26,000 after besting a final table that homed the likes of Dominic Nitsche, Ross “RLOG” Loggie, Jeff Kimber and Teng’s heads-up opponent Jonny Gray.
A £150+£15 No Limit Hold’em event takes place on April 21 at 7:30 p.m. serving as a warm-up for the Main Event on April 23. This eagerly anticipated tournament is again a £500+£50 buy-in event that features a £100,000 unconditional guarantee.
For you money, you receive a healthy stack of £20,000 but if you manage to dust those off you can re-enter.

Scotland has some exceptional poker talent and many of them are expected to head to Edinburgh in an attempt to follow in Teng’s footsteps. Such luminaries as David Vamplew, Richard Milne, Robbie Bull, Alan Gold, Paul McTaggart, could all be present and correct while the likes of Teng, Nitsche and Rupert Elder also live in Edinburgh and will probably find the lure of the GUKPT too much to resist.
