The Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) kicked off on Sunday night with the first two of 35 scheduled events. The first of these tournaments was a $250 buy-in no limit Hold’em re-entry event with a $350,000 guaranteed prize pool.
That guaranteed was smashed when a total of 2,246 entries were taken and we’re delighted to report that huge chunks of the $523,318 is now nestled in the Full Tilt accounts of our players!
“KidPoker705” collected a cool $14,129.59 after finishing in seventh place, but by far the biggest score went to Yucel “mt19631994” Eminolgu – the man known as “Mad Turk” – who took down the event for a massive $99,430.42 plus the coveted FTOPS jersey and avatar!
It’s been quite the week for Eminoglu who you may recall chopped the PokerStars Super Tuesday for $71,838.59 and now this! Watch out for the Mad Turk at your tables because he is running hotter than the sun right now.
Keeping at Full Tilt, Daniel “ImmaPwnYou” Wilson’s amazing run continued with a third place finish in FTOPS Event #2 for $30,742.95. It is a result that should see Wilson climb to the top of the Irish online poker rankings at the next update.
Shout out too to Paul “JRod Fett” McTaggart who fell in ninth place in that same tournament for $3,059.00.
Congratulations to “Hoopahool86” who chopped the Turbo Multi-Hundo three-ways for $11,563.27 and to “bowdenator” who came fourth in the same tournament and banked $6,221.24.
This week saw the PokerStars Sunday Million up the ante and put a $9 million guarantee on it. As you’d expect, that lofty guarantee was broken when 50,432 players parted company with $215 to create a $10,086,400 prize pool.
While none of our players managed to win this huge event, “HeraclioT” finished 12th for $63,645.18, the same amount that “sammyace92” collected for their 10th place finish. Ireland’s “EV4dGloryOMC” and Marc “14alonso14” Macdonnell banked $25,014.27 for their 24th and 27th place finishes.
Merseyside’s Allan “Bigdaft” Peers helped himself to the largest score of his career when he chopped the Sunday Warm-Up three-ways and scooped an impressive $82,123.37 for his troubles, while Mike “katiemikexxx” Howard is now $42,252.75 richer thanks to his runner-up finish in the Sunday Rebuy.
Also at PokerStars, Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree added $13,667.17 to her lifetime winnings by finishing seventh in the Bigger $162, “WhatAlegend1” collected $8,937.96 for finishing fifth in the Sunday 6-Max and Ireland’s Daniel “DanielT999” Tighe came sixth in the Sunday 500 for $22,79150.
888poker continues to be a happy hunting ground for UK & Irish players and long may that be true! This week’s $50,000 Crocodile saw Ireland’s Cathal “cshine87” Shine walk away with the lion’s share of the spoils, namely $23,292.00 while Charlie “chazcombes” Combes banked $7,521.37 for his third place finish in the same tournament.
Scott “AggroSantos” Margereson managed to reach two 888poker Sunday Major final tables this week. First, he finished seventh in the $100,000 Sunday Challenge for $4,133.52 (fellow Brit “Bradbfc10” finished fourth for $8,267.04) and then busted in third place in the $50,000 Turbo mega Deep for an additional $8,310.40.
In the 888poker $100,000 Mega Deep, Jareth “hteraaj2001” East continued his recent run of form with a sixth place finish worth $7,696.00.
There was some success to shout about over at partypoker, too, where the $200,000 Guaranteed almost reached its guarantee for the first time in several months. A total of 1,060 players bought in and they were all outlasted by “callacony” of London who walked away with $31,700 in cash, by far the largest score of his career so far.
Partypoker’s $100,000 guaranteed High Roller was also topped by a Brit thanks to popular grinder Sam “sammy_squid” Grafton topping the 212-strong field in the $500 buy-in event and collecting $19,500.
With the FTOPS continuing throughout the week and then MicroMillions rearing its head on March 19, there should be plenty of big scores for us to shout about. The very best of luck to all of the UK & Ireland players this week and beyond – win the lot!
