Pokerfest returns on March 29 and runs through until April 12, during which time 77 tournaments with more than $2.4 million in guaranteed prize pools take place at the partypoker virtual felt.
As with previous editions, Pokerfest 2015 features three buy-in levels to ensure that everyone, regardless of their bankroll size, can complete in the online festival. This time around, Low events cost $5 to enter, Medium events set you back between $10 and $50 while High events buy-ins are $100 or more.
Nine tournaments kick Pokerfest 2015 off on Sunday 29 March and guarantee a cool $590,000. The largest of these nine opening events are the Event #6 and #9, which are the $200 buy-in $250,000 guaranteed and the $500 buy-in $150,000 Guaranteed High Roller.
Both of these events are part of partypoker’s Sunday Majors schedule although both have had $50,000 added to their guarantees for Pokerfest. The $250,000 guarantee in particular represents massive value because the $200,000 guaranteed that it replaces has fallen way short of its guarantee for several months now.
Pokerfest 2015 offers something for everyone with Pot Limit Omaha, Bounty tournaments, turbo events, ante-up formats, No Limit Hold’em, seven-card stud and fixed limit Hold’em being spread across the 15-day festival.
Closing out the festival is the Pokerfest 2015 Main Event, a tournament that carries a $300,000 guarantee. The last time this tournament ran, 1,624 players bought in and created a $302,064 prize pool, with “stroj_1” emerging victorious and claiming the $46,337.58 first place prize.
The partypoker management team will be hoping that Pokerfest gets off to a good start after the disastrous $500,000 guaranteed on March 1. After only 2,016 players bought in, partypoker had to add $108,284 to the prize pool in order to meet the guarantee, which is one of the largest overlays seen in recent years.
