Another Sunday has been and gone and once again British grinders have helped themselves to some huge scores at the world's largest online poker site PokerStars.
One of the biggest scores this weekend belongs to Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer. The former world number one added $75,254.95 to his already impressive total of more than $4.5 million. Brammer eventually fell in second place to Russia's “Ravishka.”
Brammer was joined at the final table by Marc “grandy14” Grand who busted in ninth place and banked $4,686.40.
Amazingly, Brammer's score was not the largest had by a British player this Sunday because “Ice B” helped himself to a massive $130,714.20 score after chopping the Sunday Million four ways. “Ice B” is the latest in a long line of Brits who have excelled in online poker's biggest weekly tournament and long may it continue.
Another former world number one, Patrick “pads1161” Leonard, banked a $52,556.25 score when he won the Sunday Rebuy. Leonard, based in Hungary, outlasted British-based “luetch1” who finished in third place for $28,030.00 – himself a former Sunday Million champion.
In the Sunday 500, arguably one of the toughest tournaments found online, “TheMuppet” emerged victorious and added $71,190.00 to his coffers. It was a final table packed with Brits as Elliott “elliottpet” Peterman (fourth for $28,673.75), Rhys “floppinhel” Jones (fifth for $19,993.20) and “BigBang.JR” (seventh for $12,023.20) all helping themselves to five-figure scores.
Shoutout to Jones who then went on to finish ninth in The Bigger $109 for $2,554.25.
At PokerStars' sister site Full Tilt, Jareth “hteraaj2001” East continued his recent good run of form by walking away with the title of The Sunday Major champion, a title worth $41,460.02. The rest of the Full Tilt majors weren't as kind to our grinders although “deliverance_24” won $2,660.90 for finishing eighth in the Super Sized Sunday and “Seldoon” banked $5,525.59 by coming fourth in the Turbo Multi-Hundo.
Once again, 888poker proved to be a happy hunting ground for our players with them putting in some excellent results.
Ireland's “delpess” was the biggest 888poker winner, taking down the $100,000 Mega Deep for a cool $34,818 for his victory. Delpess was joined at the final table by British players “eat1ngandwin,” “eseperrito,” and “AKProPokerAK” finished fourth, fifth and eighth for scores of $9,948; $8,290 and $3,316.
In the $100,000 Sunday Challenge, “ThreeBunPass” finished sixth for $5,281.20 and “d1sclosure” seventh for $3,960.90 with “eseperrito,” fresh from his final table appearance in the $100,000 Mega Deep, winning the $50,000 TURBO Mega Deep outright for $20,142!
Finally, over at partypoker, two British players managed to navigate their way through the majority of the 940-strong field of the $200K Guaranteed, a tournament that has overlaid for several months. Cardiff's Mike “DegenDon” Donofrio chopped three ways before finishing second for $24,000 while Neil “NezyWOut” McFayden collected $6,280 for his seventh place finish.
