The live poker tournament schedule in the United Kingdom and Ireland is as tightly packed as Kim Kardashian's jeans, which is great news for you if you're wanting to venture to a brick-and-mortar venue to play poker instead of clicking your mouse from the comfort of your favourite chair.
There are two huge live poker events running in the UK during the first half of February, one in Birmingham and the other in the British capital, London and an even larger one towards the back end of the month at the Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham.
The Birmingham event is the opening leg of the 2015 Genting Poker Series (GPS) between February 2-8. Held at Star City, the highlight of the festival is the £440 buy-in Main Event, although the eyes of the poker community will be all over the festival as the management team promise to inject some fun back into live poker.
Aspers casino at Stratford hosts the latest edition of the partypoker WPT National UK London event, which is played as an accumulator tournament. Featuring three starting flights, costing £200 each, players can play in one, two or all three and if they progress to Day 2 more than once they take their stacks through with them and combined them into one big stack.

February is also the month the the £1,000,000 guaranteed Sky Poker UK Poker Championships is taking place and it looks set to be huge. When the £1,000 buy-in Main Event ran in 2014, it featured a £500,000 guarantee, a guarantee that was smashed by some £121,000. This led to a first place prize of £125,000 which was won by Alex Spencer who defeated Danny Blair heads-up.
This year's Main Event is the same £1,000 buy-in but has had its guarantee doubled to a staggering £1,000,000! Throw into the mix a £200,000 guarantee UKPC Mini, a £150,000 guaranteed High Roller (£3,000 buy-in) and a £100,000 guaranteed 8-max event and it is easy to see why the Sky Poker UK Poker Championships are a must play live poker event for anyone who considers themselves a poker player.

Those of you looking for a live poker fix in Ireland need to head to Dublin for the Dublin Poker Festival that we wrote about in more detail here. Later in the month, February 19-22 to be exact, the inaugural 888Live Local Series Dublin event. Everything points towards this being a fantastic live poker event and is definitely not to be missed.
Fans of the Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) have two opportunities to win one of APATs coveted gold medals. The APAT European Amateur Poker Championship runs from February 7-8 in Coventry with the APAT Scottish Amateur Poker Championship heading to Edinburgh on February 28 through March 1.
Lastly, the ever-popular Grosvenor 25/25 series continues in February with £220 buy-in events (£25,000 guaranteed) taking place up and down the country. Newcastle, Thanet, Cardiff, Reading and Aberdeen are this month's venues and all of the events should have plenty of value in them.
