When Kara Scott and partypoker went their separate ways as 2014 came to a close, we didn't think it would be long before we saw Scott back in action in the poker industry. It turns out our prediction was correct because earlier this week Scott announced she is embarking on a new poker voyage in Italy.
Scott and her professional poker player husband Giovanni Rizzo are now consultants and brand ambassadors for Italian outfit Tilt Events. The company has been running major poker tournaments in Italy for many years including regular events at the world famous Ca'Noghera and the World Poker Tour Venice festival.
Speaking via her blog on the poker training site Cardrunners, Scott said:
“Giovanni and I will be joining their team, being involved all the way from the early dreaming stages to the fine detail execution of the Tilt Cup events as well as bringing back - and this is REALLY exciting - the Venice Poker Festival for the end of 2015! We're both energised to work hard, listen and help create tournaments that are the kind of events that we as players would love to attend.”
“So there you have it. One of my projects for this year will be centred around awesome poker events in awesome Venice. Excited is an understatement!”
Although arguably better-known for her work in front of the camera, Scott is an accomplished poker player in her own right. Despite a limited schedule, Scott has amassed more than $630,000 in live tournament winnings an impressive total aided by her 104th place finish in the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event ($41,816) and her runner-up finish in the 2009 PaddyPower Irish Open ($413,612).
Rizzo is a talented all-round poker player who can often be found playing mixed games and crushing major tournaments in the Italian online poker scene, where he is known as "gioriz."
UK & Ireland PokerNews would like to wish Scott and Rizzo all the best in their new venture.
