$1M Guaranteed Grand Prix Million Announced at Dusk Till Dawn

$1M Guaranteed Grand Prix Million Announced at Dusk Till Dawn 0001

Rob Yong and his management team at Dusk Till Dawn (DTD) have wasted no time at all in announcing their latest project, a $1 million guaranteed event that costs a mere $100+$20 to enter.

At the start of February 2015, Yong took to his blog at the DTD website and mentioned DTD and partypoker would be launching a £250,000 guaranteed partypoker Grand Prix Tour that would only cost £50 to enter. That in itself I impressive, but this latest idea from Yong and Co. is crazy!

In order to reach the lofty $1 million guarantee, the tournament needs to attract a staggering 10,000 players! To put this into perspective, the largest-ever DTD Grand Prix took place in 2013 and saw 4,932 players descend on the Nottingham-based club, meaning this new event needs to bring in more than double that amount!

“This is a huge target but I believe it is possible,” said Yong when asked about his ambitious project. “I remember the first ever Grand Prix in September 2010 with a £50 buy-in and a £40,000 guarantee requiring 800 entrants. We broke the UK record and it was one of our proudest moments, so five years later, to achieve 10,000 entries and a $1 million prize pool would be simply amazing.”

To help reach this huge target there are going to be nine Day 1s played live at DTD and a further nine played online at partypoker between Friday 15 and Saturday 23 of May with Day 2 taking place at DTD on May 24 and the final day on May 25.

As if matters needing spicing up, DTD re awarding the first 1,000 Grand Prix Ticket winners a Golden Chips, which if they win and then reach the final table of $1 million guaranteed event receive and additional $25,000 in cash!

Ten thousand players in a tournament is unheard of, but we've said it before and we'll say it again, if anyone can get bums on seats and make this happen it is Yong and his team at DTD.
