Lee Taylor at the 2014 World Series of Poker

As a Bolton Wanderers fan, Lee Taylor doesn't have much to smile about, but when it comes to playing poker Taylor has a beaming smile across his face thanks to ending Day 1b of the 2015 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) London Main Event as the overall chip leader.

Another huge crowd of 179 players descended on The Poker Room on Friday afternoon, taking the total attendance to 289 and meaning the £200,000 guaranteed prize pool was smashed by an impressive £89,000. Sixty-five of those Day 1b starter progressed to Day 2.

If you have played any major live tournament in the UK over the past four years you will certainly have seen Taylor in action. The man from Bristol has accumulated more than $350,000 from live tournaments and almost $1.7 million from his online exploits. Now that he has 142,100 chips in front of him he is going to be a force to be reckoned with as the GUKPT London Main Event progresses.

The Day 1a field as a star-studded affair and Day 1b was no different.
