Billy Chattaway Enters UK Online Poker Rankings Top 10

Billy Chattaway

Billy Chattaway has returned to the top 10 of the UK online poker rankings, currently occupies the number seven spot and has his eye on a top five berth.

Chattaway is in a rich vein of form and can seemingly do no wrong at the virtual felt. After winning back-to-back Sunday 2nd Chance tournaments at PokerStars at the start of the year, Chattaway has continued to crush those who dare stand before him.

Some of Chattaway's recent results include winning TCOOP-05: $27 PL Omaha 6-Max 2R1A for $20,878, finishing second in the Betfair Poker €30,000 Sunday Masters for $5,162, winning a $55 NL Holdem 6-Max Turbo for $5,000 and coming second in the $55 NL Hold'em Rebuy Turbo Big Antes for $2,331 – those last two results coming at PokerStars.

Chattaway is now up to 68th in the world rankings and we wouldn't bet against him eclipsing his career-high of 21st in the near future if his January form is anything to go by.

Another player who has hit form is Stephen “woody1234321” Woodhead. After finishing third in the PokerStars $51 NL Omaha H/L Hyper-Turbo and third in the $11 NL Hold'em 1R1A, Woodhead won a $55 NL Hold'em Turbo Re-entry ($6,448) before taking down TCOOP-03: $215 NL Hold'em Progressive Super Knockout for a cool $77,689. Throw into the mix several deep runs and a win in a $44 NL Hold'em Turbo and it is easy to see why Woodhead has returned to the UK top 20.

Honourable mentions have to go to Andy “andyh26” Holman who has won four tournaments at PokerStars in the past seven days, to Sebastian Saffari who is back in the top 20 following a win in the Bigger $55 ($32,710) and to Oscar “MendaLerenda” Serradell who won The Big $162 at PokerStars ($27,216) to climb to second in the UK and a career-best 15th in the world.

Also to Jareth East who almost won three tournaments on 888poker in a single night. East took down the $7,500 Thunder 2nd Chance ($1,924) and The $8,000 Tornado ($2,425) before finishing as runner-up in one of the $10,000 Monday Twins Challenge ($1,758). Nice work, sir.

John Daly Back On Top After Quiet Week in Ireland

The past seven days haven't seen many big scores coming from the Irish grinders, but there has been some movement in the top 20 of the online rankings.

John “gruaiggorm” Daly has leapfrogged Kevin “SuitedAcesBaby” Killeen at the top of the leader board, although his lead is a slender 61.48 points, plus Jude “j.thaddeus” Ainsworth managed to gain some ground on the leading pair by winning the Titanbet Poker €10,000 Gtd Masters (£3,082) and finishing second in The Big €50 at PokerStars' France-facing site.

A round of applause in the direction of Conor “ccoonnoorr” O'Driscoll who banked $17,116 after winning the PokerStar Hotter $44 on Sunday night. This result has helped push him up to 12th in Ireland and 655th in the world, which happens to be his highest ranking yet.
