The 2015 edition of the PokerStars Turbo Championship Of Online Poker (TCOOP) has almost reached its halfway stage with 23 of the 50 events now completed and it seems that British grinders are running well judging by the fact the United Kingdom tops the “Money Won by Country” leader board.
Players from the UK have accumulated $788,829.67 from the first 23 events and lead Russia ($782,003.26) and Germany ($763,825.11) in the won won standings. A large chunk of that impressive total stems from “Robeebee” and “Maison Close” finishing first and second in TCOOP-17: $215 NL Hold'em for combined scores of $207,528.50 and Stephen “woody1234321” Woodhead winning TCOOP-3: $215 NL Hold'em Progressive Super-Knockout for $72,999.14.
In addition to Robeebee and woody1234321 winning TCOOP titles, the in-form Billy “b8chatz” Chattaway also booked a win by taking down the TCOOP-05: $27 PL Omaha 6-Max 2R1A for $20,877.61. You may recall that Chattaway recently won back-to-back Sunday 2nd Chance tournaments and then followed that impressive double with a final table appearance in the same event.
2015 TCOOP By the Numbers (UK)
- Entrants: 7,368
- Cashes: 1,007
- Final tables: 12
- Events won: 3
- Money won: $788,829.67
Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer has reached the money places the most of any British player so far, cashing on seven different occasions, although a big score still eludes him, while Rhys “floppinhel” Jones (six cashes) and the aforementioned Chattaway (five) also have multiple cashes thus far.
With some huge events coming up over the next few days – TCOOP ends on February 1 – we fully expect the total money won by players in the UK to smash through the $1 million barrier and beyond. There is a $500,000 guaranteed NL Hold'em 8-Max event taking place tonight that is sure to be a hit with our players, then on January 29 there is a $215 NL Hold'em Re-entry that boasts a $600,000 prize pool.
The two events that we expect big things from take place on February 1. First, TCOOP-46: NL Hold'em Ultra Deep has a $500,000 prize pool that will be eclipsed and the $2 million guaranteed Main Event has our name all over it, you mark my words!
