UK & Ireland Sunday Briefing: BigTurtle11 Chops Sunday Million for $141K

UK & Ireland Sunday Briefing: BigTurtle11 Chops Sunday Million for $141K 0001

$141,836.70. How do you go to sleep at 8:00a.m on Monday morning after winning that amount of money? That is a question we should be asking “BigTurtle11” who on November 3 chopped the PokerStars Sunday Million four ways and walked away with $141,836.70 for his efforts.

BigTurtle11 was one of 7,104 entrants to this week’s Sunday Million that kicked off at 7:30pm on November 2 and ended more than 12 hours later in the early hours of November 3. Our hero could have netted more prize money but he fell at the final hurdle and lost heads-up to Greece’s “dimjyri.” While the title would have been nice, we’re sure having almost $142,000 placed into his account will help BigTurtle11 to get over the disappointment of not winning.

Although BigTurtle11’s haul was the largest, there were still tons of other scores players from the British Isles to brag about.

Jake95Miller” chopped the Bigger $162 three-ways before going on to win and claim $35,000. He was joined at the final table by Milton Keynes’ Davy “Button_F1” Lonz who finished fourth for a career-best $17,044.80.

Keeping with the goings on at PokerStars, we have to give a round of applause to Ireland’s “Panch90” who finished sixth in the Sunday Warm-Up for $21,723.00, to “1Don’tStop1” for coming fifth in the Sunday 2nd Chance for $12,950.00m to “slink dog909” for his third place finish and $16,626.71 haul in the Sunday 6-Max and to “srxakgirona” who won the Sunday Supersonic for $52,704.64 – OK, that last player is a UK-residing Spaniard, but his IP address is British!

A couple of weeks ago, Rick Trigg walked away with the title of partypoker $250,000 Guaranteed Sunday champion and this week he almost repeated that remarkable performance. Playing as “tHeClaImEer1,” Trigg battled his way through the majority of the 1,624 entrants before falling in fourth place for $18,335.28, a result that not only boosts his bankroll but should put Patrick Leonard under immense pressure in the UK online poker rankings.

Over at Full Tilt, The T-Rex was dominated by Brits, with Paul “xxxCelticFCxxx” Febers walking away with $14,099.65 after a heads-up chop with Jason “jdpc27” Wheeler. Niall “Firaldo87” Farrell (fourth for $6,264.00), Adam “Demonic16” Picken (sixth for $3,480.00) and “Amadi_007” (eighth for $1,740.00) joined Febers at the T-Rex final table.

Also enjoying a big score at Full Tilt this weekend was “Malakastyle” who collected an impressive $19,646.00 for finishing third in the Sunday Major. Fellow Brit “raitotametag” finished eighth in the same tournament and won $4,342.80.

There was another UK win to celebrate on Sunday, this one taking place at 888poker where “aebbitt” won $22,933.26 by taking down the $100,000 Sunday Challenge while “Michaelblk” is $10,745.00 better off after finishing second in the $50,000 TURBO Mega Deep. “Fo5571” put together a deep run in the $100,000 Mega Deep, eventually busting in sixth place for $5,424.00.

That brings our round-up to a close for another week, here's to the next seven days being full of fantastic results for players from the British Isles!
