Paul Briers is the man to catch after the completion of two of the three starting flights in the 2014 Boylepoker IPO Dublin Main Event.
If you thought Thursday’s Day 1a attendance as impressive (323 entries) then Friday’s Day 1b turnout of 546 will knock your socks off! Of those 546 entrants almost exactly half (227) managed to progress to Day 2 with the aforementioned Briers on top with 225,200 chips.
In second place on the Day 1b leaderboard is the Matthew Hollis who reached the money places in this very tournament in 2013, falling in 56th place for a €685 cash. Hollis will be hoping to go around 55 places better in 2014!
Irish star Fergal Nealon progressed in fifth place in the chip counts having accumulated 209,300 chips. Nealon has close to $200,000 in live tournament cashes and an additional $500,000 from his online poker exploits. Although there is a long way to go until this tournament is settled, Nealon is a solid bet to reach the money places and make a deep run – mark our words!

The third and final starting flight, which is expected to completely sell out, began at 12:00 p.m on Saturday and continues until 12 levels are written into the history books. Will anyone beat Briers’ total of 225,200 chips? Only time will tell.
