One of the United Kingdom’s two super casinos is attempting to bring poker to the masses by launching a recreational player focused poker club.
The Aspers-owned Casino MK in Milton Keynes houses one of the largest poker rooms outside London, one with space for 200 players. With daily low buy-in tournaments and 27/7 cash games, The Casino MK’s poker room has quickly become one of the go-to venues for poker players.
Every Thursday evening at 6:00p.m, for the affordable sum of £12, wannabe poker players can head to the Casino MK and receive an hour’s poker tuition safe in the knowledge they are seated with likeminded people who want to learn how to play this amazing game that we have come to love.
In addition to the poker lessons, the £12 also pays for a burger and two drinks, making it an absolute bargain in our eyes.
“Many people have chosen The Casino MK as the place to play poker, but now we want to give those who aren’t familiar with the game the opportunity to learn something new and different,” said the assistant general manager of The Casino MK, Luke Perkins.
There is a minimum of six players per booking in an attempt to attract groups of friends or local companies wanting to increase morale for team building events.
“The popularity of poker has grown tremendously in the past 10 years,” added Perkins, “but there’s nothing quite like playing poker with friends in the atmosphere of a Super Casino.”
The Casino MK opened its doors to the public in September 2013 and became an instant hit with casino goers. With 108 slot machines, 22 gaming tables, 76 electronic gaming terminals and the aforementioned 200-seat poker room, The Casino MK is only rivalled by the Aspers Casino at Stratford for its size and choice of games.
Gambling aside, the casino has rapidly become a 24/7 entertainment venue thanks to its award winning Clary’s Grill & Restaurant, cocktail bar and the largest screens in Milton Keynes adorning the walls of its sports bar.
