Chesterfield’s Scott “Aggro Santos” Margereson finds himself in at a career-high point in the PocketFives.com online poker rankings following his double World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) coup.
Margereson has climbed to fifth in the United Kingdom and 29th in the world on the back of winning two WCOOP events in three days. Event #18 of the 2014 WCOOP went Margerson’s way and he emerged victorious to claim the $106,896.51 first place prize. A trio of days later and Margereson chopped Event #22 before going on to take it down for $202,000.00.
Those two amazing results, added to the flurry of cashes that Margereson has helped himself over the past few weeks, have pushed his lifetime online winnings through the $2 million barrier and helped to put Margerseon’s name on the world map.
A handful of other top names improved their positions this week, Rhys “floppinhel” Jones being one of them. Jones had a fifth place finish in the PokerStars $109 NL Hold’em Turbo 2x Chance ($4,752) a few nights ago before winning the $215 WCOOP 2nd Chance NL Hold’em progressive Knockout for $27,479 and more than $10,000 in bounty payments.
Former world number one Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer has been slowly climbing back towards the top of the UK rankings and his quest to do say has been aided by victories in the $109 NL Hold’em Turbo 2x Chance ($16,682) and in the $55 buy-in NL Hold’em 1R1A ($3,838). With another 35 WCOOP events still to play, Brammer has plenty of chances to bank a huge score and start pressing for one of the top three places on the UK leaderboard.
Phill “bergeroo” Huxley returns to the top 20 this week thanks in part to some superb results at PokerStars. Among his many cashes over the past week are:
- A win in the $33 NL Hold’em 1R1A for $2,167
- A second place in WCOOP Event #28 for $20,580
- A second place in the $109+R NL Hold’em for $9,781
- A second place in the $22 NL Hold’em 1R1A for $4,294

Kevin Killeen Claims Irish Number One Spot
After several months of being ranked first in the Irish online poker rankings, Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas has been knocked from his lofty perch and replaced by the UKIPT Dublin champion Kevin “SuitedAcesBaby” Killeen.
Killeen has been knocking on the door of the number one spot for quite some time and finally broke through thanks, in part, to him winning one of the WCOOP 2nd Chance events for a cool $22,706. In that event, the $55 NL Hold’em, Killeen worked his way through the 2,874-strong field before defeating “Gotulf” heads-up to secure the victory.
The popular pro’s reign at the top could be short-lived, however, because the gap between him and second placed Geleziunas is a mere 82 points and with the volume that Geleziunas typically puts in over the course of the week, those 82 points could be overturned in next to no time at all.
Also on the rise this week on the back of an excellent WCOOP result is Michael “BIGMICKG” Graydon. The man from Meath locked up more than $48,000 by finishing third in the WCOOP Event #21 and then followed that result up with an outright victory in a $55 NL Hold’em event ($11,241) at PokerStars on the next day.
