London Stock Exchange listed Playtech, owners of the iPoker Network, have agreed to acquire Aristocrat Lotteries from Aristocrat Leisure Limited for €10.5 million in cash.
Aristocrat Lotteries, formerly known as ACE Interactive, is one of the leading suppliers of server-based gaming and online client-servers for interactive video terminals. According to the Aristocrat Lotteries website, the company is “at the forefront of developing gaming solutions” and has “over 2,000 employees working across every continent.”
Playtech’s Head of Retail and Chief Operating Officer, Shay Segev, said of the deal: “We’re delighted to be acquiring Aristocrat Lotteries, furthering a key element of Playtech’s retail strategy. Playtech’s multi-channel solution means that this content can be deployed across any location and delivered through any device as well as allowing operators to cross-sell their customers into digital channels.
“This is an excellent deal and further strengthens our leading position to retail operators in key regulated markets, while also creating new opportunities to expand in those territories as well as others. The Aristocrat Lotteries business is led by a first-class management team and has an excellent team of developers. We look forward to working closely with them in the future in order to build and further the results they have already achieved.”
Once the deal is finalised, it will position Playtech as one of the leading suppliers of VLT systems in Europe and South America. Playtech hope to replicate the success of its own Videobet solution.
It has been a busy time for Playtech of late, who last week were appointed as Sky Bet’s Live Dealer Provider and who released its latest set of interim results.
Those results revealed Playtech’s revenues increased 21.2% to €214.4 million with adjusted profit climbing an impressive 44.8% to €96.8 million.
