Rick Trigg Passes Through The $5 Million Winnings Barrier

Rick Trigg Passes Through The $5 Million Winnings Barrier 0001

With the 100th European Poker Tour (EPT) festival taking place in sunny Barcelona over the past week, many of the top British online grinders were out of action because they couldn’t play online while in Spain, but not all of our elite players were jet setting across Europe, some of them stayed on home soil and continued to boss from the comfort of their homes.

One such player was Rick Trigg. The 30-year old pro from Sheffield is famed for his ability to put in ridiculous volume – often more than 30 tournaments per day – and he often opts to grind online rather than make the expensive trips to major live tournaments.

Trigg enjoyed a brace of wins this past week, both coming at PokerStars, where he puts in most of that tremendous volume. The first netted him $4,104 when he won the $54 NL Hold’em Turbo Knockout and the other $6,210 when he won the $109 NL Hold’em 1R1A. Those two results, coupled with an $8,441 score for a runner-up finish in The Hot $75, helped to push Trigg’s career earnings from online poker tournaments over the $5 million barrier.

Another high-volume who enjoyed success during the past seven days is the Bristol-based Spaniard Oscar “MendaLerenda” Serradell. A win in the $10,000 Gtd Turbo at partypoker ($2,130), was followed up with a victory in the partypoker $5,000 Gtd Turbo Bounty and a runner-up finish in the partypoker $200K Guaranteed Sunday ($16,900) all helped Serradell to climb to eighth place in UK online poker rankings.

Jareth East is yet another player who seems to play hundreds of tournaments each week and when this type of player starts to run well the results begin flowing in.

East won The Hot $22 ($4,198) and a $109 NL Hold’em Turbo ($14,498) at PokerStars this week and now finds himself occupying ninth place.

Allan “bigal37” Peers is in the hunt for his fourth Triple Crown following two wins on August 24. Peers took down the partypoker $50,000 Gtd Major for $7,500 and the PokerStars $77 NL Hold’em 6-Max Turbo for $3,236 and now needs to win another qualifying tournament before August 31 to get his hands on the virtual gong.
