Johnson, Beresford, Milde and Grafton Climb Up the UK Online Rankings

Johnson, Beresford, Milde and Grafton Climb Up the UK Online Rankings 0001

Big wins and deep runs have been the normal for a large section of the United Kingdom’s online poker elite and as a result there have been a few changes to the top 20 of the leaderboard over the past seven days.

At the top of the tree is still Patrick “pleno1” Leonard with 7,395.80 points, with Sheffield high-volume grinder Rick “TheClaimeer” Trigg as close to the number one birth as he has been in a while, he's a mere 107.34 points behind.

Last week we mentioned that Christopher “MAKKAPAKK” Johnson was in the form of his life and it seems to be continuing. Having won the Sunday Million at PokerStars, Johnson has continued to crush and can brag about five four-figure scores in the past week, including one for $5,563.

Also in blistering form is Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford who on July 16 won the PokerStars $215 NL Hold’em Turbo 2x Chance ($8,030), the following day he won the $265 NL Hold’em Knockout ($6,164) and then the next day came third in the $215 NL Hold’em Turbo ($3,690) all at PokerStars. As a result, Beresford is now ranked 100th in the world – his highest position yet – and if he ever gets around to adding his screen names from other sites to his profile he is sure to fly even higher.

Returning to the top 20 this week are Leeds grinder Marcin “marcin123” Milde and popular pro Sam “TheSquid” Grafton.

Milde helped himself to $13,047 and almost 200 leaderboard points when he finished third in the PokerStars Hotter $75 and then a further $4,349 and 137.39 points when he came sixth in The Bigger $162.

Grafton, a former Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) Grand Final champion, owes two solid results at the French PokerStars for his return to the UK’s limelight. A fifth place in the €50 Summer Warm-Up on the same night finished sixth in the €300 Sunday High Roller helped to push Grafton back where he belongs; can he climb even higher?

Best of luck to Charlie “chaz_man_chaz” Combes who is on for a Triple Crown after winning the PokerStars $320 NL Hold’em 6-Max and the Full Tilt Poker Turbo Hundo.
