Carpdiem200 Enters UK Online Poker Rankings Top 10 0001

With the vast majority of the current top 20 ranked online tournament poker players currently trying their hardest to secure some gold at the 20144 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, the door has been left open for some of the chasing pack to mount a charge and move up the leader board.

One player who has capitalised on the fact the online tournament waters are less shark infested is “carpdiem200” who has climbed into the top 10 in the United Kingdom for the first time since we started compiling these reports.

We’re still unaware of carpdiem200’s true identity – you have to respect people’s wishes to remain anonymous – but we do know he’s based in Kent and that he’s an absolute boss, if the account in fact does belong to a man!

Recent results including a fourth place finish in The Big $109 for $7,330 at PokerStars and a brace of top results at Full Tilt Poker, namely a seventh place in The Sunday Major ($4,500) and a third place in the $30K Half-Turbo ($3,465) have resulted in carpdiem200 climbing to ninth in the UK standings.

Returning to the top 20 this week is Phill “bergeroo” Huxley who won the Titan Poker €5,000 GTD Rebuy for $2,066 then The Big $019 at PokerStars for $15,984 and then completed the Triple Crown by binking The Big €20 at

Huxley then won a $5 NL Hold’em Hyper-Turbo at PokerStars for $3,406 and had more than a dozen other scores, making it easy to see why he’s shot back into the top 20 and claimed 16th place.

Patrick “pleno1” Leonard still has the top spot, but is under increasing pressure from Yorkshireman Richard “TheClaimeer” Trigg.

Trigg won five tournaments in the four days between June 26 and 30 for combined score in excess of $35,000! Trigg’s wins, all at PokerStars, were:

  • The $55 NL Hold’em 1R1A for $2,745
  • The $019 NL Hold’em 2R1A for $4,095
  • The $109+R NL Hold’em for $9,125
  • The Big $55 for $14,720
  • The $109 NL Hold’em Turbo 1R1A for $6,816

Amazing stuff.

Tomas Geleziunas Back on Top in Ireland

Over in Ireland, Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas has hit form again and has been rewarded with some excellent results. Among those results are a win in the $82 NL Hold’em 6-Max Hyper Turbo at PokerStars for $8,372 and a win in the $109+R NL Hold’em 6-Max, also at PokerStars, that netted Geleziunas $5,217.

A third place finish in the PokerStars.fe Sunday High Roller for $6,395 and an outright win in the partypoker $25,000 Gtd Rebuy helped push Cathal “shinerrr” Shine up into fifth place, while the unknown “gruaiggorm” continues to smash the France-facing PokerStars site to pieces and is now up to tenth place in the Irish rankings.

Soaring into the top 20, to position 15 to be exact, is Daragh “daragh999” Davey. Wins in the PokerStars $25 NL Hold’e Hyper-Turbo ($4,464), The Hot $55 Turbo ($10,557), the 6-Max Club ($2,284) and in the $20,000 Saturday Challenge at 888poker ($5,813) have all helped to see Davey return to the top 20. Should he continue in this rich vein of form a top 10 spot beckons.
