UK Online Rankings: Conor Beresford Hits Form Again 0001

With many of the United Kingdom’s star poker players grinding away at the live felt at the 2014 World Series of Poker and the fact the FIFA World Cup is in full swing, it was a relatively quiet week in the online poker world. That said, there was still plenty to shout about from a British standpoint, not least the return to form of Conor “1_Conor_b_1” Beresford.

Beresford first appeared on our radar in March 2014 when he had a spectacular Sunday at the felt. On March 16, Beresford finished fifth in the Sunday Kickoff at PokerStars for $7,644 then won The Hotter $55 for $25,429.99 and came fourth in the Sunday Supersonic for $23,794.05!

Since then Beresford has helped himself to plenty of other big scores, but this past week has seen him return to form of old. A sixth place finish in the $320 Saturday Super-Knockout ($5,879), a win in the $55 NL Hold’em Turbo 2x Chance ($5,099) and a win in the $215 NL Hold’em Turbo ($9,202) all at PokerStars have resulted in Beresford climbing to 16th in the UK and 167th in the entire world.

I only wish Beresford would enter his non-PokerStars screen names to his profile because if he did I think he would soar into the top 10 in the UK for sure.

Another player in good form is the player known as “carpdiem200.” Having won The Benjamin at Full Tilt Poker for $3,146, carpdiem finished second in the PokerStars $8.80 NL Hold’em rebuy for $3,816, fifth in The Hot $55 for $2,568 and third in the Winamax XPERT for $2,153.

Three more four-figure scores followed before he took down the $75K Half-Turbo at Full Tilt Poker for a whopping $13,164.

The other notable mover in the top 20 was Ben “jenbizzle” Jones who re-entered the top 10 again thanks to him winning the PokerStars Hot $55 for $9,243 and then having an almost identical score a few days later when he finished fourth in the Full Tilt Poker Sunday brawl for $9,274.
