Trigg Now Second in the UK Online Poker Rankings; New Entry to Top 10 0001

While the 2014 World Series of Poker is rapidly nearing a conclusion, back home our elite online players are continuing to crush all that stand before them and have put in some excellent results.

Patrick Leonard is still on top of the UK online poker rankings after the last update although he faces some stiff competition from Richard “TheClaimeer” Trigg who, judging by his recent results, seems to have hit a rich vein of form.

Trigg is well-known for logging plenty of volume at the virtual felt and even rejected the idea of jetting off to Las Vegas for the WSOP so that he could continue to grind online. His continual deep runs in some of online poker’s biggest and toughest tournaments have allowed him to close the gap between himself and Leonard to 773.71.

The chasm separating Yorkshire favourite Trigg and Leonard should narrow by the times our friends at next run their update not least because Trigg won the $55 NL Hold’em 1R1A and the $109 NL Hold’em 2R1A both at PokerStars on June 26 and were too late to be added to his current score.

Ben “Jenbizzle” Jones continues to climb up the rankings and now finds himself sixth in the United Kingdom and a career-high of 73rd in the world. Back-to-back sixth places in the Full Tilt Poker Tyrannosaurus Rex last week, a 19th place finish in the PokerStars Super Tuesday and a runner-up finish in the $44 NL Hold’em Turbo (also at PokerStars) helped to improve Jones’ position.

Last week we mentioned that Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford was in scintillating form and that looks to have continued through to this week, too. Beresford binked the $320 NL Hold’em 6-Max at PokerStars for a $6,480 score and is now less than $16,000 away from passing $1 million in winning on his PokerStars account.

Two special mentions this week go to Spain’s Oscar “MendaLarenda” Serradell who, with a second place finish in the PokerStars $27, NL Hold’em Turbo Knockout, broke through the $2 million in winnings mark. Serradell is another high volume grinder so keep an eye out for him at your tables.

The second goes to Stefano “Easylimp” Terziani of Italy, but lives in Birmingham, who recently added his PokerStars screen name to his profile and instantly shot to ninth in the UK standings and 92nd in the world. Both of those positions could improve next week once the points from his win in the $215 NL Hold’em Turbo 2x Chance come into effect.
